Unfortunately, there's not enough room in the 40X(B) to accommodate the 22Mag. When I designed the Model 605, it's with the intent to chamber all four Rimfire rounds.

The re-occurring theme that concerns me is R&D....aka, Ripoff and Duplicate. Pictures will be posted when this is no longer a concern for me.

I appreciate the support guys. This conversion has been attempted and it isn't as straightforward as it sounds. After the time and energy I've spent on it, I think it's wise to protect it, prior to showing it off.

Daddy only has so much money to spend on gear this year, and the longer this goes on, the less likely I'll have the cash to do this- considering we don't even have prices yet.

What is it about a 700Rem Pattern repeater that seems to make cold fusion look like a cake walk?

Always good to keep something secret giving you a temporary monopoly after launch. Launch first, don't have bugs, continue to improve so you are better than impostors and you will pretty much own the category.

Am looking forward to seeing pictures, though.

Its kinda like, "well, I think I'll have time to build the capital back up." But of course as soon as I smoke the discretionary fund, this will be ready.

If you were in our shoes (drooling over the 2 kick ass rimfire options you are soon to have) which way would you go and why? Eighter get a 40x and have you do the conversion or go for the house build? I dont mean to put you on the spot and dont need a very specific answer, Im just looking to get an opnion with some experience (on this subject) behind it. Thank you for your time.

I'd say, if you don't already have the 40X, go with the new action, but it will depend on how far you want to go with a build. If you want a Manners stock with DBM and the full custom route, the custom action would be a better way to go.

I have a full custom built on a converted 40X and the better bang for the repeater buck is the new action. If you're looking to go with an intermediate build, converting the 40X is a great way to go.

I'd say the two main variables are the engineering of the conversion and the delta between the cost of the conversion and the new action. You've said the engineering is still sensative, but what about the pricing, so at least I know how much to leave in my piggy bank.

I'm not exactly certain what the point of your post is, but the reason I haven't posted detailed info is because my conversion and my rimfire action differs greatly from what others have attempted. I don't find it necessary to go any further here because Tantrum has covered my remaining point of view.

The Model 605 design is complete and aside from the patents being squared away, I'm working on the manufacturing process. My plan is to build a few rifles for testing and publish pics of everything when the design is protected.

Well the new S&B 3-20x50 is coming out after over two years of hype too. I doubt people that have been waiting will be disappointed. And last time I checked, it will still be a scope with aluminum, glass, knobs, and everything else other scopes have.

Some people demand quality, recognize quality, and are patient enough to wait for it. I see you are not one of these people.
