I have the folder. It's a very solid piece of kit. That said, it is VERY expensive. Mine was purchased lightly used (Beretta Demo rifle) with an LE discount and I got the folder for the price of the fixed stock. That was a no-brainer.

But given the price premium, if I had to have a folder, I would instead go with a factory fixed stock and fit a Kinetic Research Group folder unit. The KRG stuff is amazing and a fraction of the cost of the factory folders.

In any case, I rarely fold the stock. But the option is there. It's not that big a benefit for me, as my rifle stays in a drag/trunk bag. Were I "jumping" the rifle or similar, it might be great. But it's more tacticool than a real benefit for my application.

Here is my TRG at a recent M/O school, during the stress course. Yes, they make us fire them offhand while being yelled at (and otherwise harassed) by the instructors. TRG's are not made to shoot offhand... but it can be done. Everything hit the target.

I also have a folder and I agree with Sirhr's comments regarding the cost. Aside from being expensive it has a wide range of adjustment and is adjustable in the field without using tools. It's really a very good set up and a huge plus.

I do have to disagree with Sirhr's comment that I highlighted in red. I find my TRG very "shootable" in all positions. I find it a lot easier to shoot offhand than many other rifles and the great fit of the folder is probably a big part of that. It works well for me.

I won't disagree with that... but as I have my rifle set up, with very heavy accessories, it is a bear to shoot offhand.

Yes, the rifle itself can be very shootable in any position and the adjustment of the stock definitely contributes to its ergonomics. I would accept nothing less from Sako, which really understands rifles.

But mine is definitely set up to shoot from a rest.

I'm glad we're in agreement. Like you said, SAKO has this all figured out. It makes the rifle easier to shoot well and that's what counts the most.

Sniper10, you can find used for $350 -$380 or look at the Atlas.
I know Riflesonly they have them in stock don't need to wait.
There's some hide members buying the Atlas for their TRG's.

How did it rub against the barrel? I can achieve it only with the legs extended to the last two notches and with considerable pressure...

It can rub against the barrel. The main reason I do not transport mine with the bipod attached.

Both are good bipods, I would never put a Atlas on mine with it under the rifle like a Harris. But with the new front mounts out there, you don't have to.

Mildly surprised not to see any Razor HD's thus far.
TBAC 338P-1 inbound, but I love the Stock Brake for now.
I'll stay with Black on Black for a while, or at least until the sticker shock wears off.

Nice! I am running a TRG-22 with black furniture and a Vortex Razor as well. I am trying to gather interest to get Spuhr to do a 35mm ring mount that will fit the TRG dovetail for the Razor.

I have the Harris swivel podlock, the Sako, and the Atlas, I prefer the Sako. I feel like I can load the Sako better and it is like leaning against a wall. The Atlas is better at tracking movers though. Try both and sell the one you like least or keep one as a back-up.

Yes I bought the rifle from Euro Optic with the Dark Earth Stock back in august of last year... I have a Surefire muzzle break because I'm in form 4 process for a Surefire suppressor.

I don't have glass yet so a beauty shot doesn't count until it's functional. Epoxy on the receiver left from the rail sucked to remove. It's fantastic and all I've done is pull on snap caps so far. Factory 1st stage came in at 1lb, 2nd stage at 1lb 6oz for 2-3/8lbs overall. No need to even bother touching the adjustment screws.

Until then, my first tactical accessory...

A photo after painting some of the folding stock because it was lacking in green. Needs a coat of matte clear to match the reflectivity of the stock Sako Green furniture. I learned not to use Scotch tape to mask things. It loses pliability once painted over and chips off instead of peeling off like masking tape so it's a bitch to remove and leaves a shitload of tape residue. Spending $5 for masking tape would have been well worth avoiding the headache. I'm still trying to remove bits of brittle, painted tape from the squishy cheek riser.

The roll pins on the main folding assembly are cosmetic...because shit wouldn't come apart after I drifted them out. I just masked and painted after my arms got tired with a rubber mallet trying to disassemble further. Damned Finns. I'm debating if I should paint the Hensoldt or not to match.
