I know its been talked about but midway has one on sale and I was thinking about getting it, where I will be shooting its outside and they have a few benches. is 50 bucks a good deal?

Re: shooting mats

In this game, yes $50 anything is pretty much a good deal. Out here keeping cactus out of my gut is priceless.

The good thing about shooting mats is you can use them for camping, fishing, or whenever you need a place to sit outside as well.

Re: shooting mats

Just got the Midway shooting mat and its def a good deal. I shoot off of concrete and its very comfortable.

Re: shooting mats

That mat is now 50% off. At $25 it's an absolute steal. I saw a number of those mats at a recent LR class, and they seemed quite nice. I just bought one.

Look at the reviews on the Midway site - they are almost all very positive.

Add it to your cart and then click on "View Cart." There is a box to enter your ZIP code for an "Estimate Shipping" option in the upper right of the page.

Re: shooting mats

Yeah, I think FM's point is that Midway usually has great deals but makes up for it in shipping costs. Well at least that is my opinion. Not knockin them, as I usually buy a bunch of "on sale" gear to make up the difference. For instance all of the Nosler partitions are on sale, bout $9 off a box. SMK's on sale as well.

I picked one up during a previous sale and shipping ran me right at $14 via UPS ground.

The mat has worked well off grass and concrete but has seen limited use as I tend to shoot off a heavy moving blanket I keep in the car unless it is wet.

Re: shooting mats

Love the Midway mats, ordered a couple for Appleseed, but my only compliant is the shipping costs on anything from Midway. I generally try to wait until I have a list of a couple of items so I don't feel as bad when I see the shipping costs. The mats worked great!

Re: shooting mats

i got my midway one in a few days ago and have been testing it at the house on a bunch of my sons toys

for $50 you cant really go wrong

only thing is the stitching is not great but you can easily doctor it up or shoeglue it

$23 shipping for the mat, 200 rounds of ammo, 2 lbs of powder, and 1000 primers.

Re: shooting mats

I went to some training and forgot my mat. I picked one of these up at an army surplus store for 10$. If you un-stitch the back, it lays out like the front. It rolls up and the straps have loops to keep it rolled up. There is enough strap left over to fasten it to my pack. I really like it. It's my go to mat. I had quiet a few comments on it at the training.

Re: shooting mats

I got the midway pro mat. It works great. Not as heavy duty as some others. But, for the price you just cant beat it. The best feature is the strap at the front that lets you hook the legs of your bipod to make preloading your bipod really easy. The only two down sides I've seen are the stiching and that it is kinda big when rolled up. But, if you aren't packing it into the brush that's not really a big issue.
