Bought this back at the end of Jan. and started collecting parts for it.

    Specs:

    Factory remington 5R barreled action
    Manners T4 mini chassis
    Ross Brake
    Timney trigger
    TPS 20 MOA base
    NF UL Med rings
    NF 5.5 x 22 x 56 MOA NPR1
Harris BRS 9-13 (I need a shorter one)
American defense quick release bipod mount
    Accu-shot rail
    Cerakoted in armor black
    Tac Bolt Knob
    Fluted bolt by PPR
bolt handle removed and tig welded in place.

All work was done by Scott Weichel here is Wylie TX except for the fluting which was done by Paul @ PPR. Both guys are by far heads above in my book. Great communication, service, and really care about their customers. Guys keep it up!!!

I'm awaiting a phone call from a friend to shoot today. I will report back when I get some range time in.

Nice looking rifle. Man that stock looks very familiar. Great gun for a great guy. Let's see some range pics.

Re: 300 WM Remington 5R Pics

I just picked up a 700P in 300WM. How do you like that brake? I think that's the only part I have yet to decide on. I know I want one, just not sure which.

have no idea I havent shot the thing yet. Cant shoot it at my local range now as they wont allow anything of .308 cal or higher... Pretty stupid you can fire a 7RUM but you cant shoot a 30-30.

Yep, Scotts lives on the South side of Wylie. He works for Stiller precision during normal business hours and does all their chamber jobs when not building actions.

He is SAWgunsmith on here and is doing regular smith work on his days off.

He does top notch work and gets all my chamber jobs.

He is probably talking about the Garland Public range as it currently does not allow 30 cal or above do to the law suits from the City of Rowlett. I used to shoot their once a week but no longer.

Re: 300 WM Remington 5R Pics

I picked up a like new 5r 300 WM from Gunbroker a couple weeks ago. I went a little different direction. I bedded the action into the factory HS stock, cerakoted the metal OD Green to match the green webbing in the stock, and threaded the barrel for a SAS TOMB for my Arbiter suppressor. I went with a Sightron SIII 6-24 LRMOA with Leupold mark 4 base and rings.

The thing shoots amazingly well with Retumbo and 230 Hybrids. I'll share some pics and load info if you're interested.

As promised, here is my 5R that is currently in progress.

The target below is picture taken during load development yesterday using 4 shot groups at 110 yards using Retumbo and 230 Berger tactical hybrids. Accuracy started coming in at 77.5 grains and at 78.0 grains it all came together with duplicating velocities. I need to take it out to long range, but needless to say, I'm a bit surprised with it so far. Here are the load details. As always, work up to this.

    300 Win Mag
    230 Berger OTM tactical
    78.0 grains Retumbo
Once fired Remington Brass with shoulder bumped .001
    Federal 215 Primer
    .005 into the lands
    No obvious pressure signs
    2886 fps through chronograph
