That scope is HUGE.

I know very little about scopes, so what are the advantages have having such a huge scope? Better magnification?

Re: TRG Rifles picture thread.....??

The scope stops about a half inch past the "S" in the U.S. Optics logo. The 3-4" extension on there is a sunshade/ARD

I like this black cheek piece spacer with mounted wheel adjustment. Where I can find this? I've seen only Sako stock spacers (without wheel) which I don't like. Thx.

I have the same on my gun and the wheel is not for adjustment in height, it is for making it easy when you want to remove the cheek piece for cleaning the gun.
You order what height you want the spacer to be.

There is also an buttpad with the same construction that makes it easy to adjust the pad up and down, NOT in length.

Terje is the name of the man making them and he is here on the Hide.
Search and you will find.

Re: TRG Rifles picture thread.....??

shouldn't have sold mine a while back, luckily it is in the good hands of a friend of mine so i still get visitation once in a while.
congrats to all TRG owners.

Re: TRG Rifles picture thread.....??

I have one of these on order and have a question...whats the thread pitch they come with from Sako? are you guys having them re-threaded to take standard suppresor adaptors?

They come threaded metric, M18x1. I had mine cut and threaded 5/8 x 24.

I will have to post mine when I get it back. I have a TRG-22( I traded a TRG-42 for it, thanks gpowers). It is at SAC getting rebarreled into a 260 (bartlein 1-8"twist) and a APA LB brake put on.

I've yet never found a better muzzle brake then the original Sako for TRGs (except perhaps the PGM in larger calibers) tell us if you get improvements from this MB

thanks

Re: TRG Rifles picture thread.....??

Just got the XLR for my TRG42...I cannot wait to shoot it. I'll probably put an Atlas bipod on it down the road.

Re: TRG Rifles picture thread.....??

Mine is pictured earlier in this thread. Did a Varget/175SMK ladder test with it using my AAC Cyclone this past weekend. All were seated 2.146" to the ogive (ten thousandths into the lands on my rifle). It put rounds 5-8 (42, 42.5, 43, and 43.5gr) into a 0.236" group at just over 200 yards. I fucking LOVE this rifle.

Re: TRG Rifles picture thread.....??

It's working out awesome! I couldn't stop doing mag changes after I got it installed for funsies because it was much easier. You can hit it from about every useful angle with a finger or thumb, with either hand, and it'll drop the mag with ease. It seems very natural to pop the catch extender with the support hand thumb and simply transition the thumb to the magazine stud to help extract the mag.

I didn't care much for the factory unit. You had to pretty much jam your finger in front of the trigger guard to drop the mag. If Sako extended the tab another quarter inch or so like the AI so you had more leverage and a better purchase, there would be no problem, but the Finns decided to make it flush with the trigger guard. I guess that makes it less prone to dropping mags on accident, but that doesn't really seem like an issue.

I pretty much picked one up the second I got an email confirming they were back in stock.

Re: TRG Rifles picture thread.....??

I have already posted my TRG on here but here it is 1200 rounds later and now with the trainer I got for it. The ergonomics on the Sauer are almost identical to the TRG, oh and so it the trigger!!

How'd you come by the Sauer? I'd love one of those in 6.5x55 Swede w/ a 308 barrel to swap

Re: TRG Rifles picture thread.....??

A guy mentioned he had it in a thread about something else here on the Hide so I emailed him and BEGGED!! I too would love to have the 6.5x55 barrel, but I do have the 308 conversion already. I am tring my damnedest to get a 2ns 22lr mag for it but keep coming up dry. The Sauer is a friggin lazer even with $7-$8 a box ammo it will hold 1/4" @ 50yards with ease and will most of the time dip in the sub 1/8" range it & my TRG make me

Can you please post more info on your Sauer? Is it a .22 LR or running a conversion kit? Model? Very nice looking rifle... Love the similarity to the TRG... Definitely interested in learning more.

Cheers,

Sirhr

I am waiting on my TRG-42 in .338Lapua to sit next to my TRG-22. Purchase list is TRG-42 .338 Lapua, tan stock, Spuhr 20 MOA 1.18" mount, S&B PMII MSR. I'll post pictures when it gets here and I get it put together.

Pretty basic compared to some others on here but its a great shooter.

Its a custom contour, 1.150 down to a .930 with a APA brake

Yep its the KRG rear end. I got it on pre order when they first came out. I really don't ever fold it but for me it's super comfy. The butt pad is black. What I think you see is a bit of the sling that is green.
