I finally got my new POF 308, however, I think I have an issue with the gun. The gas plug moves freely with no feeling of detent and can move from setting to setting with little to no pressure. I wanted to remove the gas plug, however, no dice. I tried depressing the button on the plug and rotating to every posssible position and I had no luck. I have a call out to POF, however, does anyone who has a POF 308 know whether I got a defective gun. It certainly appears that way to me. How does your gas plug feel?

just curious, but did you look through the manual/dvd on how to take apart the rifle? not saying to be a dick but you might be missing something.
2nd, i have had 4 pof rifles and dont recall any of them being that easy to adjust gas settings. all of them stripped down without problem.

I read the manual, looked on their website and even watched some youtube videos. The plug just rotates (spins) easily and does not click from position to position. I have depressed the button on the plug and have tried pulling on it in every position and nothing. The plug just spins and does not come out. Does it sound like an issue? If so, I am really frustrated. Now I have to make an hour round trip to my FFL guy to return the gun if it is an issue. What a head ache.

If the gas plug spins/rotates freely then, yes, it has malfunctioned. You should have to press the retainer pin to change it from normal, suppressed, or off. That being said, you shouldn't need to send the rifle back to POF. If you can figure out how to remove the gas plug and return it to POF, they will send you a replacement.

What Killshot said. I'll add that even if you can't get the gas plug out for whatever reason you shouldn't need an FFL to send it to the manufacturer or receive it back from them unless your state has crazy laws. (Hint: fill out your profile)

I can speak for CA, if the manufacturer sends you a call tag for a pick up, the rifle can be sent to the factory and the owner direct with out issues. Kinda of an oddball way of getting a hold of POF but post something on their facebook page, I have gotten replies that way. Good luck.
