This wasnt on the Savage site a few days ago!

10/110 FCP HS Precision 300 win mag. part #19627

I was contemplating the FCP HS in 338 Lapua(part#19481), but was really wishing they would make it in win mag.

Does anyone know about this new rifle? Any idea what it really looks like? I only ask, because the photo on Savage web site for the FCP HS Precision in 338 Lapua is not the correct photo(anybody else noticed this?)

I understand that the FCP HS in 338 Lapua, is really a 110 BA action and barrel, simply mounted in a HS Precision stock. So it comes with heavy fluted barrel, DBM, brake and rail. I'm wondering if the 300 win mag is also a 110 BA, in a HS stock?

If so, this is over $1000 cheaper in suggested retail from the 110 BA, and its lighter, and IMO cleaner looking.

Here is what the FCP HS Precision 338 Lapua really looks like

My question is, what will this new rifle, in 300 win mag look like?

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

Yes, I've talked to Effie, she's in SavageArms custom order dept., the 110 FCP HS 300WM will be the same as 110 FCP HSPrec. 338LM, but it's the 300WM. It has the 110BA action, muzzle brake that is smaller than the 110BA 338LM, extended DBM system.

ETA: It looks exactly like 110 FCP HSPrec. 338 LM. picture posted above...

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

I hope this is true...I'd love to have a WM to match

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

Now the site says #19627 10/110 HS precision MSRP $1192
grin.gif

That means a street price of about $950 or so

That has got to be a typo. I cant see why there would be a $350 difference between the WM and the LM. In the 110 BA the they are both $2321 retail. Even the retail price of the FCP HS Lapua at $1549 is reasonable, they are being bought up in the $1200 range.

I'm on pins and needles for availability and price. I'm calling Savage on Monday.

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

tell Effie Hi and I will be inline right behind you for the HS .300 win mag

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

What a beast, especially the one in .338!

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

Gents,
Per my conversation w/ Effie last week even when the website was not even updated w/ the info., the pricing & SKU# is correct. The 300WM will be available & shipping to dealers very early in 2012.

Well, then hank440 is probably spot on, if retail is in fact $1192, then street price will be under $1000.

Which is insane! All of the components that go in to building a rifle like this, for under $1000, and should be a half moa shooter, based up the proven 110 BA in 300wm.

I'm in!

... very happy I saw this thread! I will be in line for one as well.

WooHoo!

I don't need another 300.
I don't need another 300.
I don't need another 300.

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

Just when I was ready to get a short action 30 caliber....If this is under $1000 that'll be insane. It would take almost twice that to duplicate it.

Good news is I have plenty of H1000 if I do decide to do this lol. I'm kicking my own ass right now I literally thought to myself "I wonder what I'll do when they make the HS in 300WM...Nah, it'll be the same price as the 338 and I'll just do a 308." There goes that idea....

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

I was considering the 338 myself. Its already to go. Buy a scope and some ammo!

Do yall know if the rail is worth a crap and if so is it MOA???

EGW 0 MOA. Definitely needs replaced. 8-40 screws will require custom base. Check out Murphy Precision.

hmmm, I remember skimming across some info like that, but I didn't know what the details were, thanks for the heads up.

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

Does anyone know is HS makes 10 round magazines for the 300 Win Mag? Or if another manufacture makes a compatible magazine?

I want a WM.

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

So are the specs on savage website good?

Going to have a 3 ammo cap, 24'' barrel, so I assume the magazine will not show like the 338 one. Are you sure its going to have a brake?

or is this wrong and its going to look badass like the 338, have a large mag, brake, and 26'' ? I dont understand why they wouldnt give it the 338 look...

Savage will not even accept emails anymore. Can anyone call, ask and confirm? My spoken english isnt that good

Thanks

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

I handled that 338 in Cabelas' a couple of days ago...holy cow, she's a beast! Savage is coming through again, these have to be great shooters.

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

So, FCP hs precision, 24 inch, 10 pounds, 5 rounds, brake, or get the 110 BA 6 rounds, 26 inch, 15 pounds? (less recoil, cooler look)

Is this worth 800$ more? eh.....

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

I think savage has a few limited edition or special edition guns that aren't posted on their website or are hard to find. They have some awesome guns that have been coming out lately though

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

This is my first post here. I would like to update this thread to avoid confusion because i was mislead.

I just received my 110 fcp hs 300 win mag and it is not in the configuration indicated here. It is a 24" barrell with no muzzle break and 3+1 flush mag. I am not upset, though (i hope extended mags are released. After handling this rifle i am happy that there isn't a muzzle break. 9 lbs w/o glass will dampen 300 win recoil nicely. I am very happy with the stock with a generous free float and being very rigid. The 110 fcp action is smooth as butter. I would compare it with any of the best mauser or 700 actions i have felt.

Finish is good - there is a barely noticeable light spot in the finish on the barrel and a little ding on the barrel in the chamber area that definitely was there before it was finished. Neither is a deal breaker.

Trigger came set at 1 5/8 lbs and is even crispier than other accutriggers i have handled recently. I don't want to knock savage's quality control but this is much better than by mark II accutrigger and i may have found a real winner.

I am waiting for glass (rolling the dice on a gigantic millett lrs). I can update with range reports for those interested on rifle and/or glass.

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

So, the outside of the box from Savage has part number 19627?
And it doesn't look like this?
xlg_110fcphsprecision.jpg

As clearly stated in the posts above, the savage website was messed up for a while! But if you didn't receive what you ordered, I would've refused it, and got what I wanted. The Savage site has been since sorted out and seems accurate. I'm not sure who mislead you, but, at the end of the day, you need to be happy with what you spent your money on :)

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

I couldn't refuse order from a gun dealer which did the impossible and got the gun i asked for with no down payment and probably won't be stocked at the major dist. for a month plus.

As i said i could not be happier and am glad the rifle doesn't have a break/weighs 3 lbs less. A break would be overkill for 300 win in a 10+ lb gun with scope. Now i won't go deaf/lose teeth if my ears aren't snug.

A gun needs to look good which this obe does but form after function for me.

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

No where on savage's website does it say that the 300 has a muzzle break. It is shown as the same weight and barrel length as the 10 fcp. What mislead me was the quotes from savage posted above which must have been miscommunicated.

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

Thanks for clearing this up. Also, I have the 308 version and my barrel is noticeably closer to one side of the stock. It's still very much free floated and shoots amazing. It's just a cosmetic thing. Still, I was just wondering if yours looked the same? Don't forget to snug up your action screws a bit. Their is a recent post where the barrel started to move on one because the action screws were loose.

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

Do the 300WM and .308 versions have the 338LM style Target action or do they have a different standard LA action? IF so...3 different bolts in the same action? I'd love to score a 110FCP HS in 300WM and install a decent DBM setup on it along with some exceptional glass...

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

This is my Savage 110 FCP-K in .300 Win. Mag. I picked up about 2 years ago. It has both the Accutrigger and the Accustock. They discontinued it for some reason, and are now reintroducing it with in a slightly different variation. I've been really happy with it in the accuracy department. It is just as accurate as my Kimber 8400 Police Tactical at a far less cost. Especially with the Berger VLD 210 Gr. Bullets and a healthy dose of IMR-4831 powder. I generally seat about .030 off the lands. As you can see both guns wear the same glass and rings. The Kimber has a 20 MOA base that came with it, so the price has to factor that in as well.

Really nice good luck with it Savage makes some really good stuff.

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

The 110 FCP HS Precision 300 win mag can be ordered configured like the 338 lapua model. It has to be done though Effie at the custom shop. Ten week wait when I ordered one early in April. Cost is a bit more, they do not stock a 26 inch heavy contour barrel for the 300 .

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

to much talk on this rifle, ordered mine today should be in by weeks end. Something about throwing those 208 Amax's has my attention, well see, Slip.

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

Dang, I started the thread, and I still don't have one :-(

Has anyone done a review? Put up the link. I can't find one. I'm sure it's a shooter, just helps when I see some results.

Just paided for it and ordered a Sightron 8x32x56 for it, both should be in Saturday. I'll post a range report but it maybe awhile before I shoot it. There's a new F-class 6.5x284 in the safe and a new F/TR coming in next week. Those 2 will keep me busy for the time being. My only intent with the 110 is to throw some 208/210 class projectiles. Regards, Slip.

What pills do you plan on shooting? I bet Berger 230 gr Match Hybrid OTM Tactical would be something fierce in this gun! 208 A-max seem impossible to find

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

I was thinking about using 168's but I'm not sure as of now. I think I'm going to buy 2 boxes and see their grouping. Then maybe the following weekend buy two different boxes and do the same until I find something I'm happy with. I'm open for suggestions though!

Re: Brand new Savage rifle? FCP HS in 300 win mag!!

Btw I got it in 300 Wm. I played with it some in the store and the action is smooth and crisp. The trigger breaks like glass with no slack. I'm not sure of the weight but i wouldn't put my finger on it unless I wanted it to go off! Just a little background I'm currently active duty and shoot m16 iron sight competitions. Our triggers are tested and have to be above 3.5 lbs. This is nowhere near that. This is also my first personal long rang bolt action so ill give the best feedback I can. Ill be at the range this weekend if all goes well.
