I recently installed a Remington 5R into a McM Hunter stock. Everything worked well, but the rear action screw is a bit short. I bedded it, and do not believe there is excess bedding.

The tang looks like it is fully down, and the trigger guard is also fully in place. The ejection port lines up well.

The easiest solution would be to buy a longer screw. Brownells had them in nickel plated, but I would prefer stainless. Any recommendations?

MSC direct has them. I buy them too long and then cut them for each gun. I can't stand not having full thread engagement. Im loco like that. Also does the mag box or detachable mag seat and feed ok?

MSC Direct, I should have checked. The OEM screws are somewhat of a oval head, not really a flat head.

I just checked at FASCO (Alameda), and West Marine. The only fine thread they have is 10-32.

I did find some at BAT Machine, they look good. I agree, having proper engagement is important. Thanks to all for the help.
