Took the rifle out for it's first run today with the AICS AX stock fitted.
Fired off 3 x 5 round groups at 100m all landing within 1MOA which is nice considering I'd pulled the scope off, tensioned everything and cleaned it all between stocks.

Then moved over to a mound of dirt we usually use as a target back drop from 6-1000m and shot back down the valley towards my 66% IPSC steel swinger.

17 shots fired, 15 hits - the two flyers were completely my fault overcompensating for wind. This was by far the most awkward field firing position I've shot from in a long while, sliding down the side with nowhere really worthwhile to put your knees / feet for grip.
10 rounds prone, 5 from the PRS Medium tripod. Even with the wider cradle - SSP2 it works fine as you can wrap your entire hand over the rail section and grip the cradle with your thumb - rock solid.

The AX is by far the most comfortable, practical, ergonomic and sleek stock I've had so far. HS Precision - 700Police, Hogue SPS take off, McMillan A5, AICS 1.5 and now the AICS AX 1.5.
Recoil is crisp but the rifle settles back in straight away with minimal disturbance, this is helped largely due to the pistol grip giving you a more solid purchase on the back end. The front rail area works well on the tripod with it's flat sharp bottom edge, it settles down quickly and slides with recoil.

Build quality is excellent and the plastic took the paint well.

Very nice set up! What is the rifle cradle/mount used on the tripod?

I need to get off prone and practice off a tripod like this.

do you feel the pistol grip is more universal for all around shooting positions?

Re: First trip out - AX

My AX chassis is on the way and I hope I can get it to work as well as yours!

Fantastic looking rifle. I haven't held one, but I can see what you mean about the stock's ergonomics from the photos. Nicely done on the paint too.
