Premier 5-25x56 Generation 2 reticule or a USO T-pal 5-25x58.
I have the chance to purchase either one for about the same money. I have used neither one but I am sure they are both great scopes. Those that are knowledgeable , which would you choose and why?

Any help would be appreciated. Both are mil/mil ffp.

PR 5-25x.

To my eyes, eyebox, eye relief & sight picture are about the same on those two. T-Pal depth of view is horrible. EREK isn't as nice as PR knobs. Etc. Again, just my opinion as a consumer and user of both brands (read as: not a vendor)

Re: Premier 5-25x56 vs USO T-pal 5-25x58

I have the PR 5-25 and really like it.

I have the PR mounted on a DTA SRS and I really like the cam locking turrets for quickly adjusting the scope zero between calibers. The glass is outstanding.

I have heard that the price on the PR 5-25 will be going up 7% shortly. If you are contemplating buying a new PR 5-25, I would do it before the price increase hits.

Don't have any experience with the USO but I know the PR is a damn nice scope

Thanks guys; More opinions welcomed.

Re: Premier 5-25x56 vs USO T-pal 5-25x58

I have no experience with the USO 5-25x, but I have had a 3.2-17x in the past and it was a good scope. I have two 5-25x PH scopes and have nothing but good to say about them (though I wish they were lighter). With that said, the GEN 2 in the 5-25x is not for everyone. The GEN 2 XR seems to be a lot more popular in the 5-25x. The regular GEN 2 is a little "thick" for many, though I personally have no problem with it.

I am sure either would serve you well, so I would just get the one with the features you need the most.

I like Premier better but that is because I like the features better. They are both top of the line optics. Can`t go wrong with either.

Re: Premier 5-25x56 vs USO T-pal 5-25x58

I have a Premier 5-25x56 with Gen2XR reticle and really like it. The turrets and clicks are crisp and great. It is extremely durable, but the downsize is it's large size and bulky turrets that "sit very high".

I also own a few USO 3.2-17x44s, and just love this scope. I'm contemplating getting a USO 5-25 because I just like the USO reticles more, in particular the MPR. Plus you can get a spotting scope with the same reticle.

Re: Premier 5-25x56 vs USO T-pal 5-25x58

i have a premier 3-15x50 the glass is as clear as the s&b imho, the turrets are nice and big, very positive clicks, great reticle and built like a tank, you won't be disappointed with a premier but i also have never owned a USO scope. From my experience looking through night force, premier,S&B and leupold, i would have to say premier is at the top of my list.

Re: Premier 5-25x56 vs USO T-pal 5-25x58

I love my Premier 5-25. I have the GenII-XR and I think that is the way to go in the 5-25. For what it's worth, there is a a great buy on a USO 5-25 in the for sale section.

Re: Premier 5-25x56 vs USO T-pal 5-25x58

Thanks for all the great information. I think I will go with the Premier after considering all the feedback.

Re: Premier 5-25x56 vs USO T-pal 5-25x58

I like my Premier's. I am not that familair with USO but I'm sure its a great scope also.

Re: Premier 5-25x56 vs USO T-pal 5-25x58

I've got a USO 5-25 with Gen 2 XR. Unfortunately my only other scopes of comparison are an S&B 5-25 and a NF F1 3.5-15.

The USO can certainly hold its own in the league with both scopes (it fits nearly in the middle as far as product quality). The USO has a lot of nifty features, including the digital illumination control thing (that I never really use). The 58mm bell is gargantuan, and paired with a sunshade it gets ridiculous.

I have been toying with idea of getting a PH 5-25, I am fond of the Gen 2 XR reticle. The USO seems like a pretty tough scope, and has survived a couple of drops. The erek knob is great for quickly dialing elevation, but the thing is, the Gen 2 XR reticle is designed for holdovers, which is how i use it (and therefore do not dial elevation).

The USO is pretty feature-packed, and if you want the optional features (paint, illumination, reticles, big tube, big bell, choice of knobs), then the USO should fit the bill.
