I zero at 50 yards, use target/tactical turrets and dial up for everything past 75.

Kind of depends on what I'm using particular rifle's for. Example; For 100 through 200 yard shooting I keep a 100 yard zero on those rifles.
Now if you have just one rifle (at this time) I'd suggest a 50 yard zero, assuming your shooting will be done from under 100 yards.

Depends on the platform for me. My .22lr AR upper with EOTECH is dialed in at 50. Rifle platform with scope is dialed in at 100.

I zero at 100 just because I rarely shoot under 100 unless it's in the backyard.

50, but only because I usually shoot 223 if shooting a small critter past 100. 100y zero probably if I didn't have the option of stepping up in caliber.

50 because I can't keep my groups at .5" or under at 100.

For the 22lr, I zero at 50 yards. 50 yards gives me decent performance to start with and seems to work best for me as I can see the trajectory results from a decent starting point performer to longer distances better. As I take the 22lr to longer ranges I begin to do similar things as I would for a larger bullet.

The one I use to shoot prairie dogs I have zeroed at 100 yards. The one I use to shoot armadillos in my yard I have zeroed at 25 yards. Once I eradicate all the dillos, I will back it out to 100.

I zero mine at 25 yards and between my mount and the turret I shoot anywhere from 25 to 500 yards.

i shoot meteres but i zero at 25 meters. If you have 20MOA bases its not a problem to turn the turrets out to 300.

I use a 50 yard zero and dial for longer ranges. My turret is labeled from 50 to 300 yards in 10 yard increments. It is the only way to do it if you want to make first round hits, otherwise you are just guessing.

The Jarvis barreled rifle I built last was "zeroed" at 50yds only to test out many types of ammo from bulk to match to get the best groups and find the ammo my rifle loves to eat. Odd that the match grade was good at 50yds along with a few middle of the road types. When moving to 100yds I really found that just like a large caliber rifle the velocity was a major factor in the accuracy. All of the match went to crap but the CCI mini mags held sub MOA. All the way out to 200yds so far (wind dependant) the CCI has done great. Stay short and eliminate ammo types then move out IMO.

100 yards because it's my groundhog gun and the groundhogs are typically 100-200 yards away.

Thanks guys.. My range only goes up to 200 yards and only 100 yards for non members. I think I will zero at 50 yards.It is currently zerod for 25.. I only shoot CCI Mini mags in this gun. love that round... Thanks again guys..

I tend to zero everything for 100. This is tricky with a .22lr because a change of ammo can change POI quite a lot at 100 if going between high velocity and match ammo. I am in process of documenting not only my drops for different yardage but also zero and drops for a range of ammo too.

Yep, which is why I stick with a cerain ammo once dialed in.

for my standard silhouette rifle, i zero at 43.6 yards which is the first target in rotation.
for my other all around rifle & silhouette hunter class rifle it is set at 25 yards (for squirrels and such) and then i adjust upward from there. for that particular rifle and ammo setup, it just works well, even if switching to remington cee bee's for yard pests.
i used to keep both at 50 yards, but rarely do i shoot at that distance other than the couple rimfire matches here on the hide.
my next rifle will be zeroed at 100 yards and be strictly set up for 100 to 200+ yard shooting. this will save cranking up the scope as much and have less wear on the optic turret mechanicals.
my .22 mag is set at 50 yards, as it is mostly used for hunting turkey provides a good neutral distance without too much adjustment between 40 and 60 yards. from there i know it's just a meager 6 clicks to the 75 yard mark, and 2.1 to 100 yards. when used for squirrel and close in critters, no adjustment is needed but a 1 mildot low hold on 4 power.

I agree to the one ammo. After I built my last .22 rifle I tried 9 or so different 40gn rounds and many high end rounds ended up inconsistent. I though it was odd that CCI mini mags were the best overall in my custom barrel but I won't argue with the results.

CCI justhas an awesome quality that I havent seen in other rounds. I'm newto this, so maybe that isn't saying much. but i do know that my SigSauer Mosquito will miss feed every 3rd or so round with the Winchester HV ammo and yetafter 300+ rounds of CCI, not one single miss feed.. CCI makes a nice solid built round. The winchesters on some of them the actual round itself has some movement or play with in the shell.. Horrible.. Even my 15-22 didn'tlike the Wins... Anyway. Next time I go to the range I will zero at 50 and then do a 5 shot group and post the pics of the days shooting
.. The 5 shot groups will be without a stand as well as with iron sights so go easy if i'm at 1" group LOL

50 for my Wolf MT's, and 100 for Fed lightning. Mildot holds to 150.
Because that's just how it works for me.

50 yard zero with Velocitors...I can head shoot groundhogs from 20-60 yards holding dead on. Top edge of the head for 0-20 and 60-75. Dial for anything beyond that.

I do not know if you intended to ask for hunting or target shooting. All your replies come from target or steel shooters. I do not know why it matters with targets. Just dial for the range you choose to shoot.
For a tree squirrel rifle, I sight mine for 75 yards when leaves are off. Hold low closer and dial for anything over 85. JMO.

Well, I'd say it matters if you choose a scope with zero stops. I set the zero at 50 because that doesn't require hold downs for the squirrels from 10-50 yards, where most of my hunting occurs, then I just dial for long range.

I zero at 25 yards. Why, because I have a 25 yard range in my backyard. I guess it is easier to sight in at my yard, then to pack everything up and head to the gun club. Then you never know who else might be on the range you want to use that day. I am dropping some trees this weekend in anticipation of opening up a lane to install a 50 yard backstop.

I kill many more critters with rimfires than I do centerfires. Several times more.

I keep my 10/22 zeroed at 50 mostly. With that zero I've been able to hold over exactly on the 2nd mil dot with wolf match extra. I thought that was kind of convenient, til I use the less expensive federal high velocity stuff
