Who still makes and sells a 20MOA scope base for the older pre-accutrigger Savage SA rifles.

I have a 10FP, .308, 20" that I am finally building up the way I intended it to be many years ago.

EGW makes one. But the Farrells are tougher better bases IMO.

Re: Savage pre-accutrigger scope base??

I am also looking for a new base for my 10FP pre accutrigger. I have decided to go with a badger. SWFA shows one on their website. Thet are spendy, but as a friend of mine always said "they are not expensive till you can't buy them anymore".

ETA: I forgot that Triad also sold bases. They have the Badger also.

I have looked for Seekins, but can not seem to find them.

Good luck with your decision.

Re: Savage pre-accutrigger scope base??

I've been extremely pleased with Farrell bases....and his rings are outstanding as well.......worth every penny! I also have to mention that Mr. Farrell has answered many email questions I've had regarding his products....in a very timely manner,

It appears the descriptions of those is pretty vague but the 306-06SAV doesn't describe it as an accutrigger rail so its possible its the right one. If thats the case I would go ith the Badger before any of the others.

On their website SWFA lists the base for the acutrigger seperately. Thanks for the input.

Out of curiosity, would you also go with Badger rings or would you go with seekins? Or perhaps something else entirely. I am leaning towards the seekins. This will be for the new Vortex 5-15X44 vortex/midwayusa special.

Re: Savage pre-accutrigger scope base??

My rifle does indeed have the flat rear, round front.

You guys have listed more choices than I had anticipated. My rifle is currently wearing Leupold bases and scope rings, but I bought them so long ago, I have no clue what they are anymore. I am guessing that since the scope it wears is only 40mm, the rings are about as low as I can go. And the new scope I plan to buy will probably require at least medium height to them.

I still cannot decide on a scope!

Just keep in mind with a 20 moa base, that you have some height right there. My EGW 20 moa base and low weaver tactical rings are perfect for my Weaver tactical 40mm objective scope. I have not measured the clearance between the objective and the barrel, but it is less than 1/4 inch.

Re: Savage pre-accutrigger scope base??

I received an EGW +20 moa base today, installed it and from what I can see, the front of the base sits lower than the rear. I would have expected otherwise.
