Looking for some info on what I think may be an older Leupold custom optic? I picked up a .300wm Kelby Precision that had a Leupold I am not familiar with. Oh the things you get when folks owe you money and can't pay!

1" tube
4 x 12 FFP
Vari-X II "c"
USMC oval dots w/ gold reflective sub tension bars
1" tall - 1/4 MOA target turrets?

I did find an old Premiere (dated 2004) menu that seems to have these options as add-ons for a standard Leupold but wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone has seen or heard of this?

Can't find any info on a standard Leupold that came this way and 2004 is a little before my time in the precision optics / shooting world etc.

Any info is appreciated and if anyone has any idea what it is worth?

I'll post some pics later tonight or tomorrow if anyone is interested in seeing it.

Re: Anyone seen one of these Leupolds before?

Hey Rat,

The Leupy IIc's came out in sometime in the 80s to denote a change in their scope's elevation and windage amounts. All c's had MOA adjustments.

Believe they retailed for $4-$450 if memory serves me correctly. Too much water under the bridge though ;o)

They are the predecessor to their current Rifleman line which unfortunately can be had new < $250

The USMC dots may very well have been a custom shop item.

Hope this helps

cool thanks DREZ!

Any info is better than none! The reflective gold sub-tensions really threw me? did the c's also have the 1" tall target turrets do you know??

It's an awesome piece of glass, super clear and tons of transmission, but if it's that old it explains the good quality I suppose!

Re: Anyone seen one of these Leupolds before?

I believe that was an option ... not all were tall though, they did make some shorter versions

Re: Anyone seen one of these Leupolds before?

the new leupolds have lead free glass which really clears up the glass according to most. They overhauled all the lower end scopes last year (vari x 1s & 2s) to have lead free glass

I didn't think ffp was an option leupold offered until recently. Sounds more like a Premier Reticles custom.
