Sidearms & Scatterguns SA Mil Spec upgrades?

OK 1911/SA gurus, I have a Springfield Armory MilSpec that I'd like to get trigger work and night sights on. I believe that I've read that night sights on this pistol might be an issue due to dovetail size? So my question is would I come out better getting this weapon worked on or trade up to something already worked. The end result that I'm after is a decent shooter with night sights, nothing more.

Trijicon makes a set of .125 tenon GI Sights, which is probably what you will need. They are akward looking and the front sight must be staked on. Best best would be to either send the slide to Novak for the nocak cut and pick from his selection or have a dovetail cut for whatever sights you want to use.
