need help with atlas bipod for my remington 700 5r
I just need to know whether i need the BT17 or the BT15 adapter for the Atlas Bipod -V8 BT10 to put on my remington 700 5-r. im from australia and there are like no bipods here so i have to buy it over the net. Could someone please give me a hand

The BT10- LW17 is for mounting to a piccatiny rail. The LW17 comes in two versions. You can get a regular screw mount or a quick throw in the LW17. Not sure what an LW15 is as far as Atlas is concerned. Are you getting that number confused with New Frontier Armory's AR lower?

Unless someone makes a sling stud adapter for the atlas, your going to have to mount a rail to your stock, something you may not want to do your self as you'll have to drill and tap your stock, and you'll need to do it so that the bore of the holes are perpendicular with the artificial horizon of your rifle to ensure a balanced system and accuracy.
This will mount perfectly on your HS stock with no drilling or anything. It also has a stud point for your sling. This is what I used to mount my LW17 Atlas on my 5R. You already spending $280 on the bipod, just spend the other $40 and you are done.

Look into getting the PSS Adapter from GG&G, that's what I had and it worked great. Plus it's way cheaper than the other rails and it does the exact same thing.

+1, I have the model for my B&C medalist. It includes mounting hardware and has an integral sling stud hole. Cheers...
Get the BT15. I have a 5R with the Atlas bipod and used the BT15 to mount it. Just remove both your sling swivels and get some 1 inch pan head allen screws to attach the rail.

What do you mean? It has two slots for both swivel studs. Just like the seekins

Running a stock 5R with the Atlas bipod and BT15 here. Not sure if it's an issue for some and I don't know if the Seekins rail has it, but I like that the BT15 has a slight curve in the base that fits the HS stock better than a flat rail would. I bought the BT15 since the Seekins was sold out everywhere else at the time. I'm more than satisfied with the BT15 and have no intent to switch.

According to Seekins their rail is made specifically for the HS stock, and mine does curve slightly to fit it perfectly. I would recommend to go with whichever unit you can find easier, they all work in the end.
