Movie Theater Magnificent Seven

Re: Magnificent Seven

If you liked it THAT much, then you would enjoy "the seven samurai" (1954) which was the inspiration for the magnificient seven. Toshirô Mifune was awesome.

Easily one of the greatest movies ever made.....

Re: Magnificent Seven

Pat M beat me to it. A ship with tits, George Peppard as a "space cowboy" and one of James Cameron's first films (before he became a director).

And [Yojimbo was] remade yet again with Bruce Willis as "Last Man Standing." They should have quit with Clint, because LMS was appallingly bad.

To the folks above referencing the Kurosawa (sp?) movies... yes. His Samurai movies are amazing. What I appreciate is that you can turn the sound off, yet still follow the plot. Or listen to the inflection and voices (even in Japanese) and 'know' what they are saying. That's directing...

Cheers,

Sirhr

Re: Magnificent Seven

i have yohimbo, sanjuro, and seven samurai.....watch them several times a year, when i was heavy into kenjutsu i would watch Toshiro Mifune flicks...he was truly a great actor and swordsman.

the days of having actors of that quality are gone forever....

Re: Magnificent Seven

Glad I am not the only one who has seen many of Kurosawa's films. 7 Samurai is awesome, as is Yojimbo. If you enjoyed the old westerns then you should definitely check them out.

Re: Magnificent Seven

Rumor has it "The Magnificent Seven" is going to be remade with Tom Cruise as one of the leads.

Re: Magnificent Seven

They did a TV series of The Magnificent Seven with Michael Biehn as Chris Larabee.
I thought they did a great job with the cast and story lines with it as well.
