Anyone heard both yet? Plan on using on a 308Win and occasionally on an 5.56 AR. I will eventually get a dedicated 5.56 can, but wanted something as a stop-gap until I do.

So Arbiter or Reaper?

TIA

Also, what purpose??? Hunting, tactical or just shooting??? What types of rifles used should be considered also....

That's an excellent question. I've not heard a single thing about the performance of the Reaper.

Awaiting info like everybody else. I PM'd Mile High about it and the info they gave was same as listed on their site, the Reaper metered 32.5 dB reduction vs the Arbiter's 35.5 dB. I had inquired about what platform they were tested on and all I was told was that the Reaper's rating was on a 300 BLK, barrel length or supersonic/subsonic are anybody's guess I suppose. Nothing was said about the testing on the Arbiter.

I have a Reaper inbound (should be at dealer next week)and I'm very curious how it will do on my 16.5" 308. If it were specifically for the 308 I would have chosen the Arbiter as it has to be quieter having more internal volume. Still I really would like to see some more available info or experiences on these two cans compared with each other on similar platforms. As in all things NFA the wait is killer, it'll be months and months before end users have them in hand and very few will have both to check out side by side. My dealer has an Arbiter for his personal rifle, so I'll see if I can get him to go to the range in the next few weeks. Still won't be able to do an apples to apples probably as his Arbiter is a QD and my Reaper is TOMB. My father in law has a TOMB Arbiter inbound to same dealer, but the Form 3 didn't go out till this week so it'll be a while. If no info is out by that time I'll do a range comparo on my 10.5" 300BLK and the 16.5" 308. I don't know anything about sound testing, but I'll at least have some subjective listening and POI shift info.

Maybe SAS will put up a video on their website showcasing the Reaper, but I won't hold my breath with the relocation I've heard is ongoing.

Starting out it will be on my 20" .308 bolt gun and 16" AR's. Will be multi-purpose, but mainly just so I can shoot the .308 without rattling the neighbors windows. I've got 5 wooded acres and can shoot anything I want legally, but it's not good form to be blasting away with high powered rifles with neighbors close by. I try to stick to 22's and handguns no larger than 9mm on the property. Anything bigger, I head to the range.

If I were planning on getting a 7.62 and 5.56 cans soon, I would just get the Arbiter and then choose something else for the 5.56. With the wait times and expenditure, I will realistically be using the can for both calibers for a while.
