Kudos to Elite Iron for their customer service

I'll try to keep this short and sweet.

At the end of March, I purchased one of their Bravo 1 .30 cal suppressors for my Sako TRG. It's a three piece system that includes the suppressor, muzzle brake and brake cape, but the dealer I purchased it from only had the brake in 5/8x24 thread pitch. I called up Elite Iron and asked if I could exchange it for a M18x1 threaded brake and they said they would gladly make me one since the M18x1 thread pitch brake isn't readily available for the Bravo 1 can.

Today it came in. I even left information with them to charge my credit card for the return shipping, but they chose to forgo that route (or so I think). My only gripe is that it took 5 weeks to get back, but I don't really mind because the pieces had to be custom made and it didn't cost me a dime.

For those of you who have never heard about elite iron, I would suggest you do some research on them. I think they are most well known for making the brakes for the McMillan TAC series rifles, but the bravo 1 can I purchased came WITH the brake and cap for around 700 out the door. The quality of the machining is superb and the brake/cap feels like 2 pieces of glass rubbing against each other with water in between it. It's that smooth.

Kudos

That is one ugly brake. but if it works, it works

And the can? Still in purgatory I am guessing. Post some pics when it comes in if you dont mind. It isnt the prettiest brake, but after looking at EI's webpage, it does look pretty darn cool. Might be nice, especially where I shoot, the benches in the shooting houses are pretty close together, to the FTE is a bit a of a pain. Interested in how well you feel it works with the cap on.

Pending in purgatory as of may 1st even though I sent out the paperwork in early April.

And just for clarification, you aren't suppose to shoot with the cap on.....

I have a Bravo 1 without a brake in stock, it's a nice looking item.

To make a mount in a non-standard thread pitch to swap even up is pretty cool.

Knowing nothing about those brakes I have a question. Is that brake timed correctly? It appears the ports vent gas downward which would increase muzzle climb and kick up dirt.

Timing wouldn't do anything unless I had the suppressor to mount up to the brake. I am going to use it at the range just to reduce recoil, but the ports are wrapped 360 degrees around the outer circumference of the brake. Long story short, yes, there will be gases shot downward as well and I will possibly see muzzle rise, but the intended purpose of this brake is to be used in conjunction with the suppressor.
