Re: So...what's ur occupation?

Coming up on 12 years in the Guard, 6 Infantry, 3 MP and 3 FO. Got a Bachelors in Music Business and am working towards 2 two year certificate programs in machine shop and engineering design. Probably will continue on to get another bachelors in Manufacturing or Mechanical engineering.

Today is officially my last day of a 6 month internship at the Carnegie Observatory's machine shop, but I've spent all this week and most of last in bed recovering from some bimbo hitting me with her car.

I'm hoping to get some work in the Aerospace field, I actually like focusing on and fretting about tolerances that are so small they don't practically matter lol.

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

I just resigned to stay home and take care of our 7 year old and run the house while Mama focuses on her job that could take her to a high level.

Before that, I was a Merchandising Director at Lowe's Companies, Tools. Everything from procurement, marketing, pricing, selection, strategy, replenishment, customer feedback, design, and category Profit and Loss with Sales Margin and Inventory metrics.

I do not know what I want to be after this summer when she goes back to school and I have to find new work. Any thoughts?>

Not to get in your business but why the change? The reason I ask is because I have been an oil field mechanic my entire working career (all 6-7 years) haha and I now I want to join the police academy. Any words of wisdom from LEOs?

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

Upper cervical chiropractor. Used to be machinist-mechanic, then auto mechanic, then marine/yacht mechanic for 15+ years.
Here is an interesting testimonial:

Lynne N.
San Anselmo, CA April 2010

After 11 surgeries, including nine in the neck, I still had chronic and severe pain. I had given up, and thought I would spend the rest of my days in my room watching life go by. The surgeons had done their best, the insurance companies had paid nearly two million dollars, and I was still riddled with pain. I felt that this is how my life was going to be. At the time I was using 240 mg of OxyContin per day, and was bedridden.

For two years I had been seeing a chiropractor, who had helped considerably with some of my symptoms, but was still debilitated. I called my chiropractor for additional help, and disappointedly found that he had retired. He had given me partial relief where no one else could. Afraid to try anyone else, I stayed home in misery. After several months of increasing agony, I was desperate and made an appointment with his replacement. Dr. Steven Danaher informed me that he would only be using the NUCCA chiropractic system with me, and I felt I had nothing to lose.

Within two or three adjustments, I was almost pain free, and it was like a miracle. After three months I was fully functioning and off all meds. Now I play tennis, water ski, and have a wonderful life. I cannot stress enough how anyone with pain should try this at least once. The results will speak for themselves.

You can always tell a chiropractor. Always looking for approval, and trying to outdo/show they are more worthy than the MD's.

My occupation? I am an inorganic chemist.

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

dogm...
I only posted that to show what is possible. Most DC's are very compassionate toward their patients. While not emergency room docs, we save lives in other ways. Undoubtably there are those on SH who live in chronic pain, that would be very easy to alleviate.
Ask Howard Wasdin, USN Seal, about the value of each profession...
