I have a Hornady auto powder despencer and I am not happy with it and don't trust. I relaod 308 win for long range and going to start 45 acp if that matters. So what scale should I get a RCBS 502 or 505 or Redding #2? Thanks

Re: Reloading Beam scales help pick

And what is different between the rcbs 502 and 505

Get ahold of Scott Parker if your looking at buying a beam scale. The only way to go as far as I'm concerned. Pm me and I will forward you his contact info.

Re: Reloading Beam scales help pick

Dillons beam scale is less $ then the RCBS. They are both made by Ohaus Corp. go Dillon precision.

Re: Reloading Beam scales help pick

I like RCBS it worked fine for me for a few years, I upgraded to the chargemaster and I wish I would have done it years ago, it's so much easier and faster and very accurate / consistent, if you can afford it try the RCBS chargemaster, I think you will be pleased with it.

Re: Reloading Beam scales help pick

I have a RCBS 1010 which has been faithful for over 30 yrs now. I'm sure the 505 would be just as good. I would like one of the old RCBS Dial-o grain 304's but they're too expensive IF you can locate one. I do not use/trust electronic scales or calipers.

Re: Reloading Beam scales help pick

Like was said earlier get a hold of Scott Parker and buy what he say to buy, he is the go to guy for balance beam scales like Dave Kiff is for reamers.
