just shot with fpgb1 and his crew...the match was great, very challenging, learned alot...wow what a range! i'll be back next month with my 338lm for the one mile shot

Outstanding facility and a smooth, well run match!! Had a great time and learned a lot as well... More damn steel than a Pittsburgh scrap yard!...just try finding the one you want to and engage it in less than 20 seconds...good stuff, well worth the trip and I will be back often. Thanks for putting this match on guys!!

Thanks to everyone that came out to check out this first match. We've got alot of ideas spinning to keep this interesting and fun. To answer some other questions, yes, there will be some UKD, yes there will be some partner events, on the UKD some LRF and some milling can be expected. We will be adding some different size targets(smaller) for soem of the shorter ranges. Our goal will still be to keep it challenging and for everyone to get to shoot more and stand around less. I can say I'm getting myself a .338 very soon! All the stuff accross the road is pretty challenging to say the least!

Man--I wish I had known about this--I've been begging for some steel to shoot since I joined AIM way back last year. Shooting the f class shoots are fun also but smackin some steel is just hard to beat. Spent all afternoon today shooting 22's out to 400 yards--or I should say attempting. Guess I'll have to quit picking on Stan about steel targets now.

Couldnt make it had some heavy Duty Night Vison customers come down, But We will at some point, Fpgb1 came up to my Range today and joined myself and my son chase, we shot some Mountain steel ! The last three Hide shooters that came up all leave me knowing there are some bad MOFos around these Hills !

I sold Fpgb1 back his Super bad 300 its a KING Crown killer 4"X6" 1035 yards Fpgb1 Triple TAP it twice today!

We slung 75's and 77's at 1020 yards from 16 and 18" mk12 type and It was most impresive!

Guys Fpgb1 has alot to offer and one would be wise to become a Spunge when around him..

So we're looking at March 24th this month? If so I'm in for sure. I'm off that weekend with nothing else going on. I've never fired past 300 yards and never past 100 with my new rifle. I won't be worth a crap, but I would LOVE to learn.

I got a couple on but wasn't easy. I'm going to tweak the load with 208 amax. Also got a new stock in from McCree, looks pretty sweet I've got it mounted up, also switching to H37, a mile is a long way!

The guys who shot the match knew the results at the match, so I didn't post them, We will get the results posted on the AIM website monthly also.

There were 400 points possible over the 3 courses of fire that we shot. Each shot was worth 10 points.

As we had a tie we shot a tie breaker until we had a winner, livefreeRdie picked up a hit in the second tie breaker round and won the match. After the match concluded everyone was free to shoot and work on whatever they wanted to.

So I just loaded my first set of rounds last night on my room mate's equipment... not enough for the match, but I'm hoping my order from Southwest makes it in time. I ordered 200 rounds from Southwest last week but being RIGHT after the group buy it might not get here. I might be shootin' some cheap stuff I have laying around. Better than NOT shooting I guess haha. I can't wait!! Even if I don't hit anything.

The match this weekend is still on and will be similar to last months format. I'll add more details when I get to a computer. I'm running a military sniper course this month and won't be able to get down there for the match. Feel free to contact me or AIM for details.

Great time today. Weather was looking iffy this morning, but the clouds passed through and it turned into a great day to shoot. I was able to bring 3 new shooters with me who made their first hits past 200yds, pretty sure they are hooked.

Already looking forward to next month.

I was set up to go and the forcast showed severe weather for that area. I changed my mind, shoulda went. The weather stayed south and came thru my area, go figure. Maybe next month, if I can swing it. I believe it will be the week before K&M.

Both months I have been the fee was $25.

If you are free in April, come on out. Everyone has to start somewhere and this is a great place to shoot.

Each month, I have probably used 45-50 rounds per match, then after the match how ever many you like during plinking. Not sure on the number of targets, but you will do plenty of shooting during the match.

March was formatted a little different than Feb which was nice because I 2 friends along shooting past 200yds for the first time.

Anyway, almost all targets are full size torsos, with a few head size plates out to 400yds or so. The majority of the match is spent with the RO calling out the target, and then the shooter gets 20 sec to find and shoot 2 rounds at the target. We have also had a stage where we had to range using the reticle in out optic and take a shot, can't remember if we were given a follow up shot or not on that one. We have ran a stage where we were only allowed to adjust scope turrets one time and then use the reticle to make hits at different distances. Each stage usually has between 5 and 10 targets so there will be plenty of shooting per stage. Back in Feb, we had a stage planned where the closest target was about 1200yds and the furthest was 1500ish, we ended up skipping that because the shooters that day were using rifles that would be iffy at those ranges.

All in all, there is a lot of potential here and each month should continue to offer a better match.

Looks like the match this month has been cancelled. I was planning to head down again, but the calender doesn't show a match this month and a phone call to AIM confirmed that.

Not sure what happened, they just said there was a scheduling conflict with the match and it was cancelled.

Same here! I'll have a couple new toys for my little ol' .308. After shooting those tiny little targets at this last comp I was at, those 20x40's should be a BREEZE! Still gotta drive the GTO down the dirt road though :-/. Gotta crank my coil-overs up a little and set the dampers softer I guess.

AIM has their site up and running again. I checked this shoot out and I'm gonna try to make this one. What's the max range you'll been shooting to? What's the round count been? 1 last question, all prone or positional?

Max range is usually right around 1000yds during the match but after the match we have been able to stretch further. Round count has been about 50 during thematch and then several more for after if that is allowed again. The 2 matches I have been to were all prone.

I've had a great time during both trips down.

Looks like the match originally scheduled for june 23rd has been moved back to june 30.

I'm obviously very new, but would love to attend. I'm still trying to get my glass. don't want to skimp on that, plus getting used to it. It would be a great thing to watch for sure.

No worries man. When I went to my first one I'd never pulled the trigger in a target more than 300 yards. It's GREAT practice after the match too. If you don't have your glass by then come out anyway. I'm sure sine of the guys will let you get behind their rifles. You're welcome to shoot mine. It's just a 700 in.308 with a weaver tactical 3-15 on top, but it's fun. This will still only be my third match, so I'm still a noob too haha. The practice afterwards is worth WELL more than the entry fee.

If you get a chance it would be well worth coming out. I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to make it the 30th due to the wedding, you are more than welcome to spend a little time on one of my shooters if you like.
