If you live in or near Michigan and have been looking to get some quality training from Rifles Only, but you don't want to have to go all the way to Kingsville, here is some great news!




Rifles Only will have a team of instructors going to Michigan to teach a precision rifle course. This class will be a 3 day rifle course.

I mean't to say "Those northern gentlemen could possibly, although the chances are remote, make mistakes,(I'm sure very minor)and pay the penalty".

Yeah, California has managed to make a pretty regular thing of it! They have another class out there from the November 5-9th! Just finished a class in CO, and there was one in Utah last year!

If you don't want to come all the way down to S Texas, get ahold of Lisa or Jacob and set up a local class!

Great opportunity for people in the area. Hoping to get them in our area sometime but I'll have to say that traveling to warm Texas while it was winter in NE was not all that bad

Well unfortunately with the short notice the wife and I won't be able to make it this class. Hopefully next time there is a little more of a heads up on it. Both of us would really like to do a RO class. We used up the last of the spare vacation time on a long range class here that WASN'T worth it!!!!!!

Eric, i can tell from HERE that you are starting to come down with something. a strange bug that wont really incapacitate you until Aug at some point, and only last a few days...careful! I hear it is contagious !

We didn't pick it, it was organized by a shooter. He found the range and got it reserved, and assured us there would be plety of folks that would be in for the class. Don't know if he wants to be outted or not, so I'm not gonna mention names.
There is no reason why someone couldn't do the same thing anywhere!

Any updates on this, have my deposit in and got the acknowledgement for my deposit but have not received any further info.

Also looking for lodging info if you know of any bed bug free zones (reputable hotels)in the area let me know.

I emailed Lisa last week and she said they were busy with a class and that she would get the info out within the next week.

I ended up using points and booking a room at the Marriot in Holland. Looks like a short drive to the range.

Hey Niles,
I am one of the guys that helped put together the class at South Kent. I have made a few trips down to Texas and last time down mentioned something to Jacob and Lisa about coming up to Michigan. I knew there were people up here that were interested in an RO class, but didn't want to travel all the way to Kingsville. Looking forward to getting them up for the class. Dorr is a little out of the way, being South of Grand Rapids(20-30 min) and East of Holland(30 mins). I am from Holland and the lakeshore has a little more going for it in the summer than GR. Plenty of chain hotels in Holland, the Double Tree is probably the closest, otherwise South of Grand Rapids you will probably find some off US131. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try and answer them.

Anybody know if this a one time thing? Would love to go but just can't make it to this one.
Also, who all are members to the range its going to be at. I see they have a 500 yard rifle range and would like to check it out.

This is a one-time thing. The club is open to non-members on the weekends if you want to see the range.

I will be helping Jacob with the class (not that he needs my help). RAK187 is providing the steel. There will be more shooting than classroom work, but I will have study materials and reference material on CD for the students and I will be available to discuss the calibration of reticles, scopes and ballistic programs, as well as Michigan law regarding firearms, criminal procedure, self-defence and the use of force.

Hmmm,

Maybe I should go over and visit my bro on the west side. It would be good to see Jacob and the crew. I owe them many adult beveages for helping me out and having great patience with me when I was just starting out and took the PR1 course down in TX. If this happens up this way again I will definately have to sign up. I may even have to break out the infamous "Finger of God" for the class. LOL. You all are some lucky bastards enjoy and soak it all in.

Give Michigan high winds, high heat, and high humidity during this course of fire. Oh, and instruct Jacob to require his students carry anvils and boulders in their packs.

Michigan's first Rifle's Only class, day one is history. Great instruction, perfect weather and an attentive class. Can't wait for day two... but first I need to do somemore dry firing and get some rest.
