Mississippi has been putting the hammer down on convicted murders, today a butcher who mutilated his victim back in 1997 this is the 6th execution this year! I support it 100% I just wish us as tax payers didn't have to feed these pos for 15 to 20 years.....

I used to be a supporter but with our justice system the way it is, (suppressed and/or false evidence/corrupt/etc.) there's no way to insure we don't put an innocent person to death so I am more hesitant to support it now.

I see what you are saying, and agree to an extent. My solution is to grant constitutional carry nation wide, everywhere, no "sensitive" locations, doesn't matter what you want to carry. Bad guy gets shot in the act and dies, shooter gets a steak dinner courtesy of the local PD and or DA.

Guy gets killed in the act of committing a crime, happens enough times and it'll greatly reduce the risk of the courts sending the wrong guy to death row.

Last two here were confessions and one killed his 3 year old daughter her mother and both grandparents and gave his new gf his dead motherinlaws engagement ring.....

With the likes of Clif olsen, paul bernaro, that latest Air Force Colonel, Pitkin, and so-on. There's a good start to saving the taxpayers cubic-dollars of wasted funds incarcerating these bastards. Their molecules are ONLY good for fertilizing a hay-field, and nothing more.

The only thing worse than 'them' is the bleeding heart idiotic feather-sniffers that think 'working with' these folks would be beneficial.

To what?

What I don't get is when they catch the guy at the scene of the crime, with the weapon in hand, and covered in the blood of the victim why do they need to go through 3 appeals? There was a case in Indiana that was an open and shut case with a witness. The first police officer on the scene should have just shot him and saved the state a bunch of money since it occured 11 years ago.

Ohio had a banner year last year doing one a month for most of the year before running out of the drug used in the lethal injextion. They set precedant with using overseas supplier because US drug company didn't wnat to be associated with causing the death of inmates. We were keeping up with Texas until we ran out of the drug!

You can probably imagine the earth shaking disappointment I felt when my Daddy, WWII vet, born and reared in Georgia, lived through the depression, etc., etc., etc., . . . told me that he didn't believe in the electric chair.

My belief and love in my Daddy was restored in short order when he stated that it was his considered opinion that the states should incorporate electric bleachers.

I am pro death penalty, but only for the reason that I believe society has the right to exact retribution.

I don't believe that the death penalty deters crime, because most people either think they won't get caught, or it is a crime of passion, or craziness.

I don't believe that the death penalty saves money, because of all the time we warehouse them and the appeals process the public pays for before the sentence is carried out.

However, I do agree with the sentiment stated above that the possibility of executing one wrong person is a really horrific thought.

I just haven't reconciled my objections with my belief yet. Perhaps that is because there is a flaw in my logic that I need to work out. However, I have other similar issues: I eat meat, and used to hunt, yet believe it is our duty to protect "lesser" animals.

Because police officers are not executioners. Its a notions like that really makes my head spin. Then if one cop did do it, it would be all about tyrannical cops overstepping, and the same 3 people here would have something to say about it here.

Death penalty today is way harder to acheive than it was in the past. The mistake of executing someone because of false evidence does exist, but not like it use to. In a lot of todays executions, its usually pretty straight up, confessions or irrefutable evidence. The courts are very apprehensive about going to the death penalty if there is any doubt of innocence. Hence why there are so many on death row/ serving life.
