Army Vet selling his medal to pay bills.

Re: Army Vet selling his medal to pay bills.

Hopefully the buyer will return it to him.

Re: Army Vet selling his medal to pay bills.

$3000 is a lot for an Army Achivement medal. I would buy it and send it back, but I don't have $3000 laying around. He could totally get another from VA records. I asked for information on my medals, not looking to get new medals, however they sent all new medals that I had earned.

That medal set sells for $9 at clothing sales. Everybody got one in my unit, so it meant nothing to us.

Somebody was real nice to give him 3K.

Re: Army Vet selling his medal to pay bills.

I'd give him mine but I think I had to sell it at the 2nd hand store when I got out.
I feel for him but it's going to take more than one certificate to get an IT job -

HOWEVER that said, there are always entyr level help desk jobs available, we go through about 2 a month here.

Nations will be judged by the way they treat their Veterans!

A Silver Star with his name engraved on the back might mean something, but . . .

I mentioned this to a recently returned veteran friend of mine, and he referred to it as the "Army Kiss Ass Medal".
