I would go with the Sightron. Better glass in my opinion.Warranty the same. Sightron has dead on tracking.

Sightron, I don't see a big difference on glass quality but the eye relief varies a lot more on the leupold than it does on the sightron, if it does because I haven't notice it. Tracking has been great on both in my experience.

while shooting benchrest/fclass, I would go with the highest magnification as possible. Also fine crosshairs.

I'd go with the FCH (fine crosshair) Sightron SIIISS model and not look back. At max magnification, the fine crosshair is only 0.025" thick (thinner than the Leupy) and unless you order custom, I don't think that the VX-3 is even available with a fine crosshair, but instead only comes with the crosshair/dot reticle (and other reticles which you wouldn't want for BR). I think you'll also appreciate the extra 7x in mgnificant with the Sightron versus the Leupy.
