OK 33 views no replies, let me re phrase. Are the SPS varmint and the VLS the same barrelled action just a different stock? None local to examine. Thanks

Wow, I thought this would be an easy question for the folks here. 53 views and no one seems to know. Thanks for looking. Maybe someone will have an answer before I commit to ordering one of these.

NO

the SPS Varmint is more of a parkerized finish and the VLS is a nicely blued (shiny) finish.

Other than that, Yes.

The VLS I've seen have a nice deep matte bluing, compared to the cheap black oxide on the SPS's.

Yes they are the same. Only difference would be if you go with a .223 action and try to build a .308 or something with a standard .473 bolt face then the feed lips would have to be modified if you wanted it to be a repeater. Other than they they are the same.
