So IN
Anybody here had any recent dealing with Parabellum Inc in Louisville KY? I'm having major troubles getting any kind of response out of these guys for 3 weeks now on the coating of my barreled action that they said should ship out on 3/21.

I did a search and saw where some had the same problems and now I'm very concerned with their customer service!

Any help or advice for a new guy would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance

Re: Parabellum Inc problems

I did that search already, but was wanting to know if anyone had any recent info on them!

Thanks

Re: Parabellum Inc problems

I know a friend of mine had his rifle refinished by them about a year or so back and it took what I considered to be a ridiculous amount of time (it was close to 4 months between shipment of his rifle and return of the completed job...despite being told it would be around 1 month tops).

He had troubles getting through to anyone other than by phone, so if you have been trying to e-mail them, you might have better luck by phone.

Re: Parabellum Inc problems

I've tried both email and phone....no luck....really pissed at this point.

They quoted me 2 1/2 weeks and said it was ready to ship 3 weeks ago....hope like hell its not 4 months! I will make the 2 hr drive over there before then!!

Sounds like the search should have been done prior to shipping to them. Good luck, hopefully it turns out OK for you.

Re: Parabellum Inc problems

Still no response from these guys by either repeated emails or voice mail.

Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should/could do or what my legal rights are in this situation?

Thanks guys

All joking aside...if their comms are really that bad and you are unable to get any satisfaction on the phone or through e-mails...then a drive to their shop may be in order. Other than waiting it out...or showing up at their doorstep...about your only other option at this point is to resort to cerified mail, return receipt required, with a letter expressing your concerns and asking for immediate contact without which you will have to take more drastic action including but not limited to coming to get your rifle from them in person, possibly pursuing legal action in small claims court (incl. court costs, filing fees, etc., etc.), filing complaints with the BBB or even the KY Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection, etc., etc., etc.

Its your call and only you can decide what "level" of intervention is necessary at this point.

Re: Parabellum Inc problems

I would make the trip and try to encourage them to get the work done or hand if over and find someone else. I have a current situation with a smith. quoted me 2 months for a 1911 build its been 9 months and all i hear are promises that are never fulfilled. I will be going to pick it up next weekend regardless of completion. best of luck to you.

Re: Parabellum Inc problems

I had this PM9 slide Cerakoted by them,

Steve, the owner, told me it would be about 2-3 weeks and it took a little longer, but nothing like what you're experiencing. He definitely ain't looking to be pen-pals with you, comm-wise. He doesn't accept firearms in person and if you're local, as I am, he asks for you to drop off at

Firearm Service Center Inc
502-491-5335

You may try to call them and see what's up. I am happy with the work he did for me, but I understand your concern. Good luck.

Re: Parabellum Inc problems

I gave them a call last Friday and they also have had problems when customers come by on his promised pick-up date and gun is not there. So apparently this is a major problem with them. They did say he does the best work tho....go figure!

I even left a voice mail last week with Steve telling him to just send me the parts back and even keep my money....still no freaking action or communication a week later!

Sent him a email tonite telling him I consider the barreled action stolen or lost and Para Bellum Inc is responsible for replacing or returning my barrled action ASAP!

I cannot believe how a place can stay in business with this kind of CS. Looks like a road trip to Louisville is on order....

Re: Parabellum Inc problems

Thanks....I will keep this updated until this gets resolved. This is the first time ever I've had ANY kind of problems having gun work done. Shooters don't SCREW shooters....jeez!

Re: Parabellum Inc problems

I eventually found a fellow uspsa shooter that knew the owner and sent him business regularly. He called him the next day and I recieved my barreled action in less than a week later...go figure.

The owner said he had gall bladder surgery...who knows for sure whether that was true or not as I've heard others had the same problem after the fact.

They did do a good job painting the action tho, but I would NOT reccomend them because of the complete lack of communication by email or phone! I was ready to make the 2 hr drive over to the guys house!

Sorry for lack of follow up
