5'4", 155lbs, Caucasian, holding a rifle... lol

Re: Guess what bullet I am Testing ?

I know it's a Predator, probably can't magazine feed them as they usually load long. 6.5 mm

Re: Guess what bullet I am Testing ?

My non-fat fingered response was .284 but now I'll go .264 even though it looks bigger...

Re: Guess what bullet I am Testing ?

It looks closest to the .308 176gr as Ultraman mentioned above, although not identical.

This is the 2nd time I'm aware that you've referred to the Predators as you also mentioned a while back using some of the Predator projectiles at the ELR course. So the more important question is are you the scoundrel that bought up all the Predator Projectiles?

Stephen currently seems to be out of stock in every caliber. If you're sitting on a passel of the 176s, how about doing me a solid (get it, solid?
grin.gif
) and sell me a thousand so I can use them in my new GAP I pick up from jail tomorrow...the one I had specifically designed to shoot the .308 176 gr projectile...which I can't seem to get now...I'd put an LOL here but it's not all that funny. Oh well, Berger's 185 Hybrids are only a hair behind in BC and are probably a little more forgiving to load.

Edited to add: Whew! They're still available, order direct. Sorry for casting aspersions LL, I really just wanted to be able to say do me a solid

You're killing me, lmao. 129? It's a nice knitting needle whatever it is!

Re: Guess what bullet I am Testing ?

It's not a .30, I already said, 6.5mm ... and no I didn't buy up all the 176gr solids, but I did buy up almost all of the 235gr from SW when I hit Gunsite with them.

fngmike,
Closer, but SMALLER,

try, 120gr

Re: Guess what bullet I am Testing ?

No, I don't' have an 18" 260... my shortest 260 is 21" ...

I will probably use my Gradous 6.5CM with a 24" barrel or my 260 Headhunter, but I plan on using a 24".

Re: Guess what bullet I am Testing ?

You have a 18" .260? If so what are your thoughts and what bullets are you shooting through them. THe only long bbl rifle I have (28") is in .260 and have seriously been thinking of have it cut down wor another bbl for it but I was unsure of a short .260. My .308 is a 18" but was wondering how the .260 did. Vs a .308

What happened to this?

Short is smart

Re: Guess what bullet I am Testing ?

I don't have an 18" 260, never got it and the one I used was returned... I DONT" have an 18" 260 I think I would know.

I have SHOT an 18" 260 and it tracks with a 155gr 308 going 3100fps, 8.8 mils to 1000 yards and you don't lose much wind drift, only elevation.

My SHORTEST 260 is 21" ... and it kicks ass, I shot a 3" group at 800 yards with it on video in about an 8MPH wind. No drama going short.

Re: Guess what bullet I am Testing ?

LOL, are you sure? I figured you might lose track of all of them. I just remembered the come up was ridiculously low with that rifle. Are going to bother trying to push these fast? They should run over 3k with no problem from a 24 I would think.

Re: Guess what bullet I am Testing ?

My 130VLD load in my 6.5CM is over 3000fps so I will try to get up there, 3050 shouldn't; be an issue.

Should reach 3100fps ... we'll see.

I have an 18" .260, 139 grainers at 2700 is easy peasy which for reference is what Black Hills 139 grainers clocked out of same barrel.
I have shot it to 850yds but I have no side by side comparison with a .308

With a DA of 9130ft my dope is 8.6 mils to 1000yds.

Looking forward to a review of this Predator projectile.

Re: Guess what bullet I am Testing ?

120gr. And if that's a 120gr 6.5, I'm gonna be mucho interested in your test results and availability.

Re: Guess what bullet I am Testing ?

I would love to know how that thing shoots. It looks like a lot of thought went into the shape and design. Are they available on the open market? I'm sure they are pricey.
