Wait...seriously? That's even worse because there's no branding behind it so you have no excuse unless you actually earned it.

Verdict:
Based upon the arguments offered, you would be either a FAN or a poser.

I guess that's your choice.

Re: If I buy this shirt am I a poser?

This reminds me, I was sitting at a light in Myrtle Beach the other day and a C6 convertible pulls up beside me. I marvel at the long haired yet balding (aka Middle Management Mullet) fat tax accountant type that's sitting behind the wheel. I make a comment to my wife about erectile dysfunction and then the light turns green and as he pulls away @ 6k RPMs I get to see the license plate: "007SEAL".

Last year I watched Monday Night Football in the company of another Marine...

who served as a Marine Infantryman...

ON IWO JIMA

It made my life near complete. Of course, his money was NO GOOD that night.

http://linestretch.com/store/product45.html </div></div>What you wear is up to you, and you alone. I personally would not wear a shirt like that because I was in the Marines, and was not a sniper or anything. Sometimes, when we wear things people will think we were or are associated with whatever we are advertising, and this could make for a situation where you might have to say like "Well, I was not a SEAL, but I just like the shirt". I would feel lame then. JMHO.

I thought I read somewhere that Hathcock had a personalized license plate that read "SNIPER". I can't image anything that might bring more attention to oneself.

Granted, if anyone had earned it, he sure did. Just think that was kind of an odd position for him to take in his speaking engagements if the story about the license plate is legit.

As far as the OP's question, wear the shirt. No one will know what it means. Until 6 or 8 months ago, I wouldn't have known either. It looks really cool. I wear AF and ANG unit shirts (i.e. 125th FS) because I love the jets and have buddies who serve or fly in those units. I was never in the AF or ANG.....just an aircraft geek who loves my country and respects those who have chosen to serve.

Independently of the shirt I am not a poser. Sometimes when others see some of my rifles they ask, "What, are you some kind of sniper?" My response is, "No I just like shooting things a long way away."

When I hear a question like that it makes me cringe. Hence the reason for this thread.

I'd say theyre [retty true to size. Im 6-01 / 190 but kinda lanky. I wear a large. XL if i want it roomy

If he wore the Trident, then that would be wrong. A S.E.A.L. t-shirt is just a t-shirt worn as a sign of respect.

Didn't Hathcock literally have a license plate that said Sniper on it?

As far as the shirt, I went through the marksmanship/advanced training in Mittenwald and none of us referred to each or ever heard anyone refer to us as "kopfjager", so have at it.

I actually like the shirt.

how many of you have spent thousands on rifles and glass etc and snipe paper and steel? are you a poser/sucker buying shit meant for ops......maybe your a fat pos that calls himself a sniper cuz he playes call of duty........if everyone wore a sniper shirt the real snipers become a little less special, dont wear shit you havent earned

No I would not. But this shirt doesn't say "sniper" either. As far as I can tell the word means headhunter... </div></div>
+ most snipers are not head hunters as much as center shot hunters

Simmer down there. Last I checked they didn't issue, or award this shirt to anyone.

No need to have your blood pressure up over a t-shirt. Let people do what they do.

Unless they re wearing 'gear for ops' or some sort of award and running around telling people that they are the secret squirrel, who cares?

he asked,,,,i guess its a military thing you dont wear what you havent earned if you never served its a foreign concept your right we can wear what we want but some believe you dont need to wear crazy identifiers (sports, cars etc the exception) if youve actually donr it a kind of quiet respect and the knowledge that you know who you are

Re: If I buy this shirt am I a poser?

Never been in the military ( not my choice)..... But I have a rule about that (mother Army, Brother Navy, Father Airforce) I go out of my way to ask anyone in a military clothes, if they were in the military. ( you know tshirts, hats, ties, jewlery, tatoos). If they respond Yes I immediatley say thank you.......... If they say no, I have a friend family or other reason, I still say thank you for supporting the troops. I think if someone really cares they will ask. If they do tell them the truth, and you will have nothing to regret...... Keep supporting our troops.

Re: If I buy this shirt am I a poser?

I must say, Graham, that was an excellent take on modern Harley owners in the link.

Deep down inside, it's a need for a sense of belonging. A need for identity or affiliation. It's real and we all subscribe to it in some way or another.

Some strut into the room. Some limp into the room. Some crawl into the room. Some don't seek to enter the room. But, how we come into the room will be noticed. LOL

You put a bunch of shooters together and everyone will be sizing up everyone they don't know.

Re: If I buy this shirt am I a poser?

Sure, go ahead and get it. While you're at it order one for me too. :)

You're still a poser though. LOL

Re: If I buy this shirt am I a poser?

A kid walked up to a guy wearing a 10-gallon hat, leather vest, leather chaps, and sneakers. The kid asked him, "Mr. Cowboy, why do you wear that big hat?"

The cowboy replied, "Well, son, the big hat protects me from hot sun and driving rain, and at night I put it over my face when I sleep on the range, so it protects me then, too."

"Why do you wear that leather vest?"

"It also helps to keep the weather off me, and it has pockets where I can keep my valuables."

"Well, why do you wear leather chaps?"

"They protect my legs when I'm driving my horse through mesquite and cactus."

"Well, Mr. Cowboy," the kid finally asked, "Why do you wear sneakers?"

"That's so nobody will think I'm a damn truck driver."

Wear what you want but not my thing.

Anybody on the planet, including one of shankster's girlfriends, wearing that shirt would be about one third as annoying as this post. Just about everybody on this site has served one way or another lighten up dude.

Now if I had only killed enough bad guys to earn that 3 wolves howling at the moon shirt then I would be somebody!

On second thought, now I'm really afraid shankster will prove me wrong. Don't think I'll be back to this thread...

Re: If I buy this shirt am I a poser?

Ordered this last night, and it will be my new shooting attire, and i'm being serious.

I was dumbfounded when I discovered that they sell it in a men's size large.

It might be the baddest thing i've EVER seen!

I'd say save yourself the headache of all of this and just buy a Steelringers t shirt from the same company. If you had to ask here, you'll feel like a poser when you wear it
