Setup: looking for my first centerfire suppressor. Was set on getting a 5.56 can, now leaning towards a direct thread titanium 30cal suppressor now, with a 5.56 can to come about one year down the road.

Would be used on a 260 bolt gun, 223/223AI bolt gun, and a 5.56 AR.

260 barrel would be threaded 5/8-24. AR has standard A2 flash hider. The 223AI barrel I've got being made has me undecided.

Would I be giving up any accuracy potential if I threaded the 223AI barrel 1/2-28 and ran a thread adapter (TROS or similar) on the 5/8-24 30cal suppressor, so that I could use this rifle in the future with a dedicated 5.56 suppressor swapped between it and the AR?

+1
thats how I plan on running mine, 5/8-24 on 223 to run a 30cal suppressor

Re: 223AI barrel threading question

mines just 1/2x28...and will get a Ranger 3 on it when I can actually get one...if I want a .30cal suppressor..it'll be shot with a .30cal bullet...or at last a 6mm or 6.5mm
