shooting event in SA texas

This is another post I did about the same event in the Mil/LEO forum. They advised me to post it here.

MIL/LEO forum

Guys this is a shooting event that is for a couple of amputee veterans to help them learn how to shoot mid to long range. We need help with instruction and maybe supplies (steel target loaners and or locations to host), not money. The contact person is PJ Johns who goes by the name medium rare on this site. Please take some time and look through these posts and if you can/want to help or give input we would really appreciate it! Feel free to contact PJ (or me if need be).

Thanks,
LongArm

Re: Help needed w/ disabled veteran shooting clinic

For future reference if you want help with something it makes it a lot easier if you post some info about it. If you don't have access to the LEO/MIL section you don't have any info at all that I can see that gives dates and location.

Re: Help needed w/ disabled veteran shooting clinic

I've been thinking about doing the same thing here in the midwest, but have been at a loss as to how best sell the idea to companies. It would provide a therapeutic outlet to the guys and give manufacturers good publicity, and probably get them new clients after the guys get started at a weekend shooting clinic.

Re: Help needed w/ disabled veteran shooting clinic

This sounds like an awesome opportunity to help our warriors. Whether your disabled or not there is nothing that is more therapeutic than doing the things you love. God Bless you for your efforts. I normally work on the weekends and it seems life is very busy for me these days, but I would love to help out in any way that I can. I have been at this shooting thing for a while and I'm pretty sure that I could give some assistance where needed. I'm also sure that I could drum up a few targets from various friends of mine.

I know LongArm on a personal level...you will meet no better individual. If he says medium rare is a good man and this project is legit, than it is...period.

Kirby, I'm sure some of our local guys who don't frequent the Hide much would jump at the chance to help.

I look forward to the opportunity at meeting you, Mr. medium rare.

Re: Help needed w/ disabled veteran shooting clinic

I am trying to get approval at the ranch for the shoot to be Sept 14-16. I think it will be as cool a time, temp wise, that I can pick that does not interfere with deer season. The organization I volunteer with is Military Warrior Support Foundation. If you want to read about the ranch go to the main website and click on skills 4 life section. the Purple Heart Ranch is explained there. We have 10 beds at the lodge so I was thinking 5 soldiers and 5 support. We also have a trailer that is a little rustic but it has a/c and beds. I think the plan will be to arrive on Friday for a meet and greet. The split guys up with there shooting instructors(probably one on one). Saturday we will shoot at the range and go over whatever level of instruction the soldier needs. Then on Sunday morning have a shooting competition between the soldiers. We can have lunch then head out after that.

Re: Help needed w/ disabled veteran shooting clinic

Also if yall see someone posting about the shoot in the M/LE section can you direct them to this thread? I was denied access because it is for AD only and I am retired. I would hate to see guys that want to help think that I am ignoring them.

Thanks Again
