Mr. Dixon,

A long time friend of mine who is an FFL jumped through the hoops years ago to be allowed to use electronic A/S records.

He described having to submit for some sort of approval?

Is that sort of thing still required?

Did you have any difficulties getting it approved?

Thanks

Re: What records computer program to use?

You can use an electric bound book as long as it meets BATFE standards. I don't have the exact ruling front of me to post right now.

We use Gunderson softwares eBound program. It works well for us. We also use Quickbooks for accounting purposes.

Chad - My Google Foo is weak - I don't find any software used for FFL called Equip. Can you give us a link?

Thanks!

I use Quickbooks as well.

Perhaps this meeting of BATFE standards is what my friend was referring to with his electronic records which he does using Excel.

Re: What records computer program to use?

Just look up a/d software.

No longer need special permission for software based recoeds. Just has to meet the guidelines.

Basically the software MUST show a chain of custody for any/all error correstions and/or edit/alterations. Basically can't delete anything.

All on the atf site.
