I'm Looking a Geissele trigger in a new stripped POF lower, and i need suggestions on which one to go with. This will mostly be a hog gun with a little bench time but mostly a hunter!

Re: Trigger ?s

Geissele Hi-Speed. Available in three versions: Service, DMR & Match. All the Hi-speeds are the same trigger and hammer the springs are different. Alot of places sell it with all the springs so you can pick you preference.

Geisslle SSA or SSA-E. Very similar to the Hi-Speed but non-adjustable. The SSA is a total weight of 4.5lbs the SSA-E is 3.5lbs.

The cats meow is the Hi-speed. The SSA's are less money but are still excellent triggers.

Couldn't agree more. SSA-E on my "precision" AR and SSA on my carbine.

Re: Trigger ?s

I like the geissele super dynamic 3 gun in my mk12 build. It's light, very crisp with the shortest reset I've seen and it has a flat profile instead of curved. Costs more but it's great.

Re: Trigger ?s

For your stated purpose, hunting and occassional range use, the SSA-E is probably the best way to go. Reliability and more than good enough feel. All of the other trggers that were mentioned, while superior to the SSA-E in terms of trigger feel, are better suited to competition or range use.

They are all adjustable or require the tightening of some sort of retainer. Not the sorts of things that I want in a field rifle.

Re: Trigger ?s

This is what i picked myself alsoo. the SSA-E i want a field trigger that i can install and never have to mess with it. Great Advice TonyAngel.

Shhh, we cant talk about those here.

Re: Trigger ?s

I agonized over a trigger for my AR for a long time, but the first time I got to play with an SSA-E I bought one less than a week later. If I ever part out my AR and start over, the Geissele is the one thing I'll never give up.

Re: Trigger ?s

The Geissele Hi-Speed National Match trigger is excellent. However, I personally think it is hard to initially adjust. Even paying someone to do it won't guarantee that it is installed correctly.

If I had to do it all over again, I would go with the non-adjustable SSA-E. It has a lighter overall trigger pull, and better trigger geometry than the standard SSA.

I am genuinely asking this question. Does anyone have experience with both triggers that can tell me how much better the Geissele trigger is? I'm always up for trying better components but I'd like to know how much better first.

Re: Trigger ?s

The Timney is a good choice. Very clean break, little to no creep, no over travel and never needs to be lubed. It feels like shooting a high quality 1911 trigger.

I've looked at them but I assumed (maybe incorrectly) that the reason they were more expensive than the JP's was because they are drop-ins vs. a trigger that has to be installed like a regular trigger. You think they are nicer than the JP's though?
