After hashing it over and over,I am leaning toward a Weaver
fixed power scope..Are these a pretty clear scope?
My variable getts cloudy on a higher power setting..
Thinking of the 36x model..So please tell me your thoughts on
this if you will..Thanks

Re: question about Weaver scopes

I think 36X is going to be WAY to much magnification. In most cases we would need to know what this is going to be used for but personally I think 36X is to big for anything I would need.
I assume this would be for some type bench rest shooting. By doing that you are going to limit the uses for that rifle. It wouldn't be much use for any other type shooting.
Just my .02

Re: question about Weaver scopes

I've got one. It's a good scope but it's really only useful for disciplines like benchrest and F-class (which is what I use mine for).

Re: question about Weaver scopes

currently using two 36x,not-so-tactical,but they perform flawlessly_mandatory the mirage band,of course_

Re: question about Weaver scopes

I use the T-24 for 250yd bench shooting, and sometimes, that's too much for the mirage. A V-24 has worked nicely in the past.

Generally I have long considered Weaver to be a good compromise between quality and cost. I will own more of them.

I have seen folks reduced to complete frustration by mirage, using a quality fixed power 36x at 250yd on a really hot day.

Re: question about Weaver scopes

Alright, let me tell you my plan..Right now I am usig a tasco, which isn;t too bad but the cross hairs cover the center bull where the x is..I am shooting 22 -250 heavy barrel..So I am thinking either fine hairs or a dot..This way I have a better aining point..Maybe your right about the 36 being to much..I suppose something with less would be better..I am open for your ideas...Most shots are 250 to 300 yards..
