This is a little sneak peak into our "Presidential package". We have one slot per year reserved at the Timberghost Ranch in IA. This is a package we put together that will apply to very few people however it's pretty cool to watch. See what you guys think of it.

Re: REALLY BIG whitetail deer

Cape Buffalo need high voltage electric fences and almost no one can afford the new property insurance rate so I wouldn't get your hopes up. It has however come up in conversation.

Re: REALLY BIG whitetail deer

Currently having technical difficulties. Please stay tuned for Really Big Whitetail. Until the problem is fixed you can enjoy the video of Africa and shit.

Re: REALLY BIG whitetail deer

Looks like a awesome deal for someone!! I've seen that place featured on the Sportsmans Channel too....They have some big ass bucks there!!

Re: REALLY BIG whitetail deer

Yup big deer but have to assume that that buck was a "Reserve" buck and not free range??
But I suppose if you want big then good deal!

Re: REALLY BIG whitetail deer

Well shit I have inquired about having you build me a rifle. Whats this cost???

Re: REALLY BIG whitetail deer

Really it's a package deal that we put together for a customer. Each one is going to be slightly different in price depending on the level of rifle the customer wants and the level of deer they are looking for. It's fair to say that it's not a cheap package. We have one slot per year reserved. If anyone one wants a quote we can speak privately. I don't anticipate selling many slots but it is fun to watch the big boys play some times.

I agree - picking out a deer & then shooting it inside a fence.............is it hunting??

Re: REALLY BIG whitetail deer

I believe they offer high fence and free range hunts. Giants either way. APA, you guys have skills with the editing and music you put in your videos. Not always the same ol same

Re: REALLY BIG whitetail deer

High fence hunting will never be for everyone. I felt the same way about it until I got inside one. When you are on a piece of property that big though it doesn't matter. The only reason the fence is there is to control the genetics. You don't want things outside the fence messing up your hard work. When they have 2000 acres to run around in they aren't in a coral. They aren't overly spooky because no one every messes with them. You wont walk up and pet one though I can promise you that. As a matter of fact a few years ago we rattled a big boy up and he wasn't very happy when he got to us. We didn't shoot him but the thought did cross our minds simply because he's not 100% afraid of you and he came looking for a fight. All I can say is it's an experience that can't truly be judged unless you've done it. I understand both sides b/c I've been there myself.

I'm getting ready to post a video of me stalking an old doe in a separate field. You can see how they react to me. This is the first week of hunting and the deer aren't really sure what I am b/c they have had zero pressure on them at this point. That coupled by one young doe that was coming into estrus had the bucks acting stupid. I still can't believe it worked.

Re: REALLY BIG whitetail deer

I managed land and game for 10yrs and some of that was inside high fence. One day I was taking pictures of a rub line that traveled along a creek bed. I heard something behind me and it was a big pissed off buck walking sideways with his head cocked blowing steam and snot out of his nose. He was about 40 yards away so I kept taking pictures. I eventually had to go up a tree to get away from him. He sat there for a while wanting me to come down and fight, I stayed up there. Awesome place to work. I have seen and heard deer do things most only see on TV or read about in magazines. I take pride in fair chase hunting though. While both might be cool to some I would rather hunt without high fences. Managing deer numbers and hunting culls was fun but it feels nothing like getting after them outside of the fence, to me anyways.
