Hiders a little help is needed.

I am going to be building a short 16" 223, using a Wylde Chamber reamer and have my choice of barrels. Which of the 2 should I go with. The rifle will mainly be used for 600 yards or less shooting on paper and steel and varmint style hunting / truck gun.

I dont reload so mainly Factory Fodder will be run through this build.

The Choices:

Brux 1-8 Twist, Remington Varmint Countour

or

Bartlein 1-7 Twist, 5R, Remingon Varmint Contour.

Thanks.

I'd only go with the 7 twist if you intened to only shoot the heavy Berger 80-90's or even the 80 JLK's...The 1-8 will serve you just fine for your intended purpose.

Not sure of the twist made much of a difference, and after a little research it seems that both makers make a great barrel!

+1, for factory ammo under 600 yds, either of the two will work fine. I'd probably go with the 8 twist, but both are fine barrels.

No...</div></div>

I figured that I wante to be able to shoot everything from quality Factory ammo to cheap Mil Surp both in .223 Win. and 5.56x45. Should I stay away from the Wylde chamber? Do you have any recommendations for the chamber?

Wylde chamber is for more reliable feeding in a gas gun. I would go with a regular 223 match chamber and shoot whatever you want out of it.
