VIHTAV. N500 powder series

Hello,

Does someone know or have evidence of this line of powders being harder on barrels or throats than the standard 100 series ?

I've shot thousands of rounds in my .308 and .223's and the throats still looks new. Shot a bunch of N-560 in .243 and 6.5-06 without problems, but the loads are too fast for the range rules. They are accurate loads, however.

You may wish to try the Alliant PowerPro 2000 or 4000, which are also double based powders. Less expensive the the VV powders.

I hadn't heard that different powders, all else equal, would impact barrel/throat wear differently. Is there evidence of that?

Double based powders tend to burn hotter, thereby causing shorter barrel (throat) life. I've noticed it shooting service rifle. Varget barrels last longer than Tac barrels.

Yes. Max is 3kf/s, I'm running 3150.
