Gunsmithing Gun question...

Re: Gun question...

This was recently asked before, and if you or a friend are building your own rifle by rebarreling an existing rifle, then no is the answer. If you are a manufacturer going by the regs book that ATF gave you when you got your FFL, then yes is the answer. My opinion is that if nothing else, you should lable the caliber somewhere for safety sake.

Re: Gun question...

I usually purchase barrels for my AWs from a very very well known smith on the hide, and the barrels never come stamped with the caliber. Question is how can I engrave the caliber on the barrel here in my house for ID purposes.
Thanks gents

Re: Gun question...

For my personal guns if I want to hide the stamping of the caliber I just stamp it on the bottom side of the barrel, That way if someone needs to know what the caliber is they just have to remove the stock
