Well I have been running my first dual setup(PVS-14's with dual adapter)for a couple months now I really like the dual eye setup for walking around and driving. The down side was the weight of two PVS-14's plus adapter isn't lite on the helmet and I could feel my neck tighen up after a hour or so use even with counter weights on the rear of the helmet. Still its a nice setup since I can do anything with those 14's dual, single, weapon mount, camera mount and so on. That said I was talking to ASM Night Vision(Frankie)and he had several sets of ANVIS 9 and 5050 true dual systems instock and gave me a great deal on a ANVIS 9 housing, mount, battery pack which I installed two L3 64lpmm 29+ SN tubes that matched well. I must say the Anvis 9's feel very lite compared to my dual 14 setup much better balance and the front lens seems to need less focusing for changeing viewing range compared to my 14's. I am going to the Wilcox single 123A battery pack soon but overall after some testing last night I am very happy with the setup. I know the BNVD and PVS-15 style systems are tougher built ground dual systems but that said these Anvis 9 with mount are really lighter weight than I expected. I dont think its much more than one PVS-14,Dual adpater, and INVG mount all togather. I am going to check the weight of each system mounts and all later tonight just to know.I have to give thanks to Frankie for all the help and making it possiable for me to afford these ANVIS 9 goggles plus he took the time on the phone last night to coach me on tricks/tips installing the tubes plus how to setup use the ANVIS 9's correctly. Here is a Iphone pic of the setup:

I love those battery packs I have stared at the ones on your past posted ANVIS helmet pics for days now. How long battery life will a guy get with the single 123A on the ANVIS 9's? Also do you use any type of amber filter or eye cup on your 9's? I am so use to having eye cups it just seems alittle werid right now to me but on the plus side tactical wise I can see stuff around the eye pieces more without eye cups like looking down doing something with my hands or a white car light left or right of me driving by it sort of takes you out of that tunnel affect.

On tubes I have two really nice 2011/2012 production 9800SLG pinnacles I bought brand new 31.4SN and 32SN, super clean spot/spec I was really leaning towards using the ANVIS 9's. That said those are in my two favorite go-to PVS-14's. Frankie had sold me several brand new 2011 prodution L3 filmless and L3 thin film auto gated tubes during the last year also they are really clean only a few small pepper flake size specs most zone 3 edge and performance is right there with the high spec pinnacles. To make a long story short Filmless ANVIS 9's I now have. I cant wait to add the single battery pack

Re: ANVIS 9

On the subject of counterweights to offest goggles, you need to go BIG. I run 23 ounces (Lead weights plus 4 AA batteries) on the back of my helmets to offset the BNVDs/INVG combo which weighs 31 ounces. There is an 8 ounce disparity from front to back but the back is the only place I can try and take weight off. This however is close enough.

Now all that being said ANVIS goggles are the lightest weight set up going. So there is that big plus for them. Not much weight is needes above the weight of the regular slim line to off set the goggle, mount combo. Now if ya go with the Simply battery pack you will need a bit more then.

I don't know what the expected battery life is, but I rotate batteries after every two hunts, about 10-12 hours.
I am running amber filters on my set of ANVIS, and will be sending my other set to IPSC GUY (Pete) to upgrade as soon as I can get them off my kids head. I am a big fan of the amber filters, because I usually leave the contacts at home.(eye cups suck with glasses!)

Re: ANVIS 9

Thanks for the reply. I will give a set of the Wilcox Amber filters a try. My Wilcox battery pack should be here today also I was figureing 10-20 hrs run time before I changed the battery out but I always carry extra batteries in my pack just in case. I gave the ANVIS 9's a big test run this weeking hiking around 5+ miles over 6 hours through timber trails and some crop fields my neck felt great even with the helmet/Anvis 9 weight. I must say I really like how these 9's perform it was like walking in day light plus the conditions were super dark outside this weekend with heavy cloud cover, zero stars, no moon.

Re: ANVIS 9

Do you have threaded inserts in your oculars?
If so, I recommend the I2 technologies Amber Filters

Re: ANVIS 9

No threads on my oculars. I have one of the I2 amber filters on my PVS-14 and really like it alot but it looks like I will need the wilcox snap-ons.

Re: ANVIS 9

I had Pete install the threaded inserts. I prefer his Amber Filters over the Wilcox units.

Re: ANVIS 9
