I have a new issue with my lmt. I have been having a problem with the gun throwing the first round of a new mag either 1 inch low or 1 inch right. Now, when I clear the gun by unchambering it with the charging handle, i am leaving the bullet in the throat and pulling out the brass and powder. It did it initially when i was first breaking in the gun and went away (i now have appx. 260 rounds through it). Now it does it every time I unchamber the rifle. It doesnt matter what ammo i use either. It was doing it with FGMM 168, which is my primary round, so i tried some Hornady 155 SST (shorter overall length) and was doing it with it also. I have a call into LMT and awaiting their response. Does anyone have any ideas. Its pretty frustrating to have a very expensive rifle doing this.

Re: LMT MWs issue

Are these reloads or factory pills? Sounds like your barrel/chamber might be out of spec. Had a chance to chronograph? curious to hear your MV.

Re: LMT MWs issue

Sounds like you might be short chambered. You need to not shoot it until it's addressed.Contact LMT and get it to them it's not worth the chance of a pressure issue and your face.

That was ny thought also. Hopefully this can be resolved

Re: LMT MWs issue

cease fire buddy.... out of spec barrel is most likely your problem.

Yea, this is what I suspected. I have a hog hunt coming up and hopefully they can get it fixed soon.

Re: LMT MWs issue

You might get away with just sending the barrel back. Measure the headspace on your fired brass and post it here.

Re: LMT MWs issue

They had me send the whole rifle in. They thought that the throat is cut short and are more than likely going to replace the barrell. The gentleman who worked with me in the service department said something very refreshing at the end of the conversation.... He said " thank you for giving us the opportunity to fix this, this shouldnt have happened but it is a top priority for us to fix your rifle. We should have it back to you in about a week". Sounds like LMT is good people.

Re: LMT MWs issue

Well..... I got my MWS back today after a 2.5 week vacation at LMT. I upgraded to a 16 inch Stainless Barrel and couldnt be happier. I just fired a group that has to be less than .5 moa. Ill post pics later when my photobucket isnt acting up. Let me tell you guys, LMT is truly a first class operation that handled this situation in an incredibly timely fashion and gve me a product that exceeded my expectations.
