I know, weird title right? Completely different guns. Well, I will be taking one on trade and dont know what to do. What do yall think is worth more? the stainless revolver is in excellent shape. You can hardly tell it has ever been fired.. if it has at all.. with wood grips. from the early 80's

The glock 27 comes with box, 3 mags all with pinky extensions and its in excellent shape also... and its a gen4. About 25o rounds down the pipe.

So whats worth more on trade? What would you do? The revolver I might keep cause I think its cool and I dont have a revolver, but the 27 I would probably sell... Let me know guys thanks!

Shouldn't this be in the Sidearms subforum?

Go with the Smith.

+1 for the Smith.

I don't care for the .40S&W cartridge. Plus, you said your collection is missing a revolver an a Model 66 would fill that nicely. It may not like a steady diet of full house .357s, but it will handle as many .38s as you and your progeny can throw at it. Simple to operate too, so it'll nice for non-handgunners to learn with too. It's also a good choice as a secondary nightstand gun for a wife who may not be much of a shooter. It'd be a nice gun to try revolver division for local USPSA or IDPA matches.

On the internet, you always hear of $300 K-frames in pawn shops and gun stores. Not around here. Quality used K-frames are typically $500+. It might be different in your area.

A Model 66 isn't always the best choice, but it's hardly ever a bad choice.

One more vote for the 66.

If I were YOU.... I'd send me the 66 this way you won't have any 2nd guesses or nightmare's...

I vote the Model 66 myself

Re: S&W 66-2 357 Mag Stainless VS Gen 4 Glock 27 .40

Another vote for the 66. I have a few and have had a few. I like them alot. Great all around gun and it will shoot lots of 38's and they are a blast to shoot and usually extremely accurate. A trigger job will make it a dream to shoot also if it doesn't already have one. Don't be afraid to run 357's once in awhile but I don't feed mine a steady diet of them.

Love the 66! I don't own one though...

I do have a special series chrome plated model 19 I picked up for $200.00, 7 or 8 years ago. Great gun and the one I always bring along for my girls to shoot, as well as when I bring guests to the range.

I believe they discontinued the K-Frame line altogether.

The glock will be easy to sell.
Keep the smith, nothing like old iron....

And I love Glocks.

Keep the 66! I have one (no dash) that I picked up in '74, and never regretted it.

I can go down to GT Distributors and buy a G27 Gen 4 now - not so for the 66.

Pardon me if I giggle a little bit, but I was afraid that you weren't going to listen to the accumulated wisdom. Congrats.

Re: S&W 66-2 357 Mag Stainless VS Gen 4 Glock 27 .40

I've had a 2 1/2" model 66 since I was in high school back in the 1970s. I'll never get rid of that gun.

Re: S&W 66-2 357 Mag Stainless VS Gen 4 Glock 27 .40

I'm a S&W fan from way back. From a Model 1, to a double handful of 1900-era pocket guns to Model 19s, 36s, Pre-model 29s (from 1957), and many numbers in between I love shooting them, dismantling/cleaning/tuning them. At last count I have over 2 dozen of them. I had a 629 and a 66 and sold them some time ago. Still wish I hadn't sold the 66, but I'll probably come upon another sooner or later.

Owned one Glock. Never again.

Keep the S&W, you won't regret it.
