I don't know if a lot of people have these yet, but would be interested in how the Kahles 624i and Steiners new tactical scopes are being received.

I found a few places with some information but it seems like there's not much out there yet, especially the Steiner:

I was just interested in any feedback from people that have bought these or used these so far and what the opinion is on these.

This not really a "which scope is better" thread but just more of a "what do you think about product x" thread.

The reason I wrote non S&B in the title is just as a reference to the type of quality these scopes are presumably striving to attain.

the steiner is a really nice scope, and you can get one of my favorite reticles, the msr. the kahles is also an awesome scope, think a tactical scope with swarovski glass, which is very good. I would take either, if i wanted something in place of a schmidt and bender

Both are being well received...

Here in CO because Steiner's are local, you see a lot of them. I know every month I see more and more Steiners out there being used with no issues.

I am running 2 Kahles Ki624s and I love them, one is has been put through the wringer and it prompted me to get my second. It's pretty much my favorite scope right now.

The Steiner 5-25x is a great bang for the buck optic that to me is on par with the likes of the Premiers. I recommend the Steiners in the Precision Rifle Class here in CO all the time.

I just bought a Kahles 624i w/ MIL4 from Mike @ CS Tactical today based largely on LL's reviews of this scope. I originally bought an S&B (a 3-20) but returned it as I felt the several hundred dollar increase of the Schmidt's price over the Kahles was simply unjustified. Also, as a lefty the parallax knob in the same workspace as the elv. turret seems to be a better idea.

I really like both scopes. I have not tested out the Steiner yet but I plan to. The Kahles is a great scope.

Can't go wrong with either Kahles or Steiner. At $2300 the 4-16 Steiner is the best bang for your buck. The 5-25 steiner and 6-24 Kahles at just over $3k really makes it hard to justify any reason to go with S&B and paying Schmidts asking prices.

I believe the Steiner 5-25x56's are being manufactured in Germany, I haven't checked where they will be serviced yet. I know the S&B's have a service center in the US. Don't know if that is worth $500 if Steiner doesn't have a service center in the states.

steiner can be serviced in Colorado. I was there a few weeks ago

Yes. All of the Steiner repair work is done at the Greeley facility. No scope is sent to Germany for warranty work.

That is the major negative to me for Kahles. They have to be shipped back across the pond for service. Other than that it is a great scope.

I like the Kahles, it seem to bring a lot to the table. But my sample time was short...

That's good to hear about the Steiner being serviced here. I'm sure that whenever Kahles sells enough scopes that need servicing here for it to be profitable decision they will do so. I guess it's kind of a good thing that they haven't had so many scopes that need servicing that they need a location here yet.

I will attest to the CS at steiner. The eye housing came loose, probably didn't have enough locktite to keep it in place. Regardless it was shipped from Michigan to Colorado, repaired and back in my hands in 7 days. Its now rock solid and I couldn't break it if I tired. Happens with all the big boys from time to time. Hopefully Kahles will also get a service center here in the states as well, will go far to help them in the marketplace.

It's been a month since I had my kahles 624i. I also purchased because lowlights review and recommendations. It's an awsome scope, glass is superb it replaced my s&b 5-25 on my AI AE, the only thing I miss sometimes Is the MSR reticle other than that nothin. The parallax adjustment is outstanding the clicks are positive and zero stop is easy and flawless.

That Kahles 624i really has me thinking. The unique parallax adjustment is ergonomically ingenious.
One would think that you could log parallax clicks with the Kahles for added consistency. This could be useful information while using forward mounted night vision.

Has anyone with the 624i noticed parallax click repeatability at known distance targets?
