Once you zoom in all the way to 24, it seems to get really hazy and lose a bunch of detail. Is it actually hazy or is it just the video camera?

I'm contemplating purchasing one of these, but hear/read mixed things.
I DO like the idea of saving money and having more $$$ for shooting though
