I am trying to avoid purchasing another scope..
I have a rem 700 sendero blued fluted in 338win mag( rifle has never been used by me as I can never keep it together with optics etc)
originally had a 4.5x14 leupold on it, but never use rifle so it was put on something else which was traded..
switched to a 6.5x20 fine duplex leupold vari x iii european.. way too much scope on this rifle but had it layng around so figured why not... well I picked up a fn fnar with a nikon buckmaster 4.5x14 bdc on it( ok hunting scope but not what I wanted as the fnar will be a play toy, so 6.5x20 went on fnar/ will possibly change out to something else after loads are developed but this big scope is able to be mounted low and clear the fnar long scope rail)

I am thinking I want a 3.5-4.5 x10-14 on it again but not wanting to shell out$$ att
laying around are
nikon buckmasters 4.5x15x40 bdc( clear but unsure on durabilty)
leupold vxii 3x9x40( on a 10-22 that will swap out for 10x elite)
burris 4.5x14x42( on a winchester 70 coyote in 308 currently)

out of the 3 listed what would you choose? Selling all 3 to get something better isnt a choice at the time, and am thinking I would rather swap stuff than buy another scope for a rifle that just occupies safe space.
Thanks in advance

Re: scope advice 338 win mag

I have never owned a nikon, but I have the the same burris and leupold. I would put the leupold on it.

Re: scope advice 338 win mag

If it were me I would go with the Leopold simply because of the good experience I've had with them. I have Leupolds on most my hunting rifles, 17 hmr 3-9x40 VX1, 22lr 4x FX2, 22mag 2-7 VX2, 7x57 1.5-5x40 VX3,7mm rem 3-9X40 VX1, 300 h&h 6x FX2, 300 weatherby 3.5-10x40 VX3, 338 win 3.5-10x40 VX3, 375 h&h 1.5-5x20 VX3, 404 jeffery 1.5-5X20 VX3, and I just got another 7x57 and will probably top it with a 4x or 1.5-5. I have never had a issue with any of them holding zero.

+1 on Leupold, lifetime warranty & good customer service if you do have an issue.

Scope

Have had leupold scope2-7x32 for thirty years. Lots of hunting. Smashed stock. Scope still going strong. Love it.

I have a Bushnell 4200 3x9 on my model 70 338wm. I have had no problems at all with it, it is several years old and has been on a lot of hunts.

+1 on the Leupold never had any problems out of mine including the one on my 375 h&h.
