I'm looking at getting a new torch to be attached to my rifle and shotgun for rabbits and foxes out to 150/200 yards at night.
Iv been looking at the Klarus XT11 but wondered about its range and what the beam is like?
any experience??
Also recommended to me are the Fenix tk21 and the Dereelight DBS V3.
What are people using? help me out cause I'm fed up with looking at torches!
Cheers

Re: Which hunting torch??

surefire has a new re-chargeable one out there with 750 lumens

Re: Which hunting torch??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Surefire doesn't export out of the US. As a Canuck, I can only assume it is to cut down on the amount of blinding assaults in the dark, before the charge!

(Can you tell that I have a problem with some of these ITAR classifications? Make that, MOST, not some)

No, wait! It's so that the US can think that they're keeping everyone else "in the dark."

Get it?

I kill me.

But no, there's no exporting of Surefire, I'm pretty sure.

Re: Which hunting torch??

SureFire exports lights out of the country. Edgar Brothers is our big distributor in the UK and R. Nicholls is a huge dealer of ours in Canada.

Re: Which hunting torch??

Have you considered this...if its avail in England

I get an honest 150 yards from it off my deck to the creek and brush to light up man or beast. It has more but that is how far my open land goes. Tight focused beam. The bezel seems large but the light mounts directly onto the pic rail and does not really sit out further than the other guys smaller light that must use a mount out off the pic rail. Take a ruler and measure...its a non issue except for those who have not used one.

Re: Which hunting torch??

Take a look to Fenix if you haven't already. I have their simple TK11 on my belt and that thing can put out some serious light. Some of their newer models are even more blinding.

Re: Which hunting torch??

I just purchased a fenix tk35 for LE use and at a rated 860 lumens this thing lights up EVERYTHING. Picked it up from ceylon here on the hide for 92 shipped.

Re: Which hunting torch??

I have the Klarus XT11 and it is awesome. Small enough to fit in your pocket and will light up the woods easily. 150-200 yards you ought to be able to see eyes with no problems.
