So on the posts that I read about this company here I decided to order some ammo to try in my rifles while I was home on R&R in September. I placed my order on the 2nd of September knowing that I had placed it kind of late to receive my ammunition on time but was ecstatic to see the email saying my order has shipped on the 11th just 2 days prior to my flight home.
The ammunition however was a no show and the tracking number shows it as having never left southwest ammunition. I called at the one week and two week marks never getting an answer. I left messages asking them to call me back and help figure out the problem. I sent emails at the 2 week mark. It is now the 5ht of October and I have never heard back from them in any way. I managed to fly home get disappointed spend more of my money on similar but overpriced ammo at my local store and fly back from R&R without having ever heard back from this company.
If you are wondering why I would post on here I posted here before about contact issues with magpul and I got fast response that helped get the situation resolved then. All I want is my ammo shipped to the house so that at least my brother can enjoy shooting the 300 black out and M1A with subsonic ammo.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Strange i've had nothing but good experiences with SWA. Now i have had to wait for a bit longer than expected at one time. But they've never failed to contact me back when i contacted them. Did you get charged for the ammo?

Also have you tried contacting Mike through here? He's a member here.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Try a pm to SWammo, I ordered mine on 9/2 also. I got a shipment notification on 9/26 that didnt really ship either. Zach who works with Mike took care of it for me this monday. Tracking info now shows it is on its way. The ammo is worth the wait and I think it is growing pains for a small company. They do produce a great product.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Well I am embarrassed, Just when I thought things were going better.

I did respond to your pm. I cannot find your emails though.

You want to contact me, "Zach" if there are issues, call
My cell phone. It is posted in many threads, 480 390 8121

If you do not leave a message on my cell, you get no return call.

Thank you,

Zach

Re: Southwest ammunition

The times I called the phone it had the message the you were in the back of the shop so I only left a message the first two times. I have responded to pm and thanks for the contact.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Used to be Mike that did the SH stuff, IIRC the user name used to be Mike@SWammo or something there of. My bad Zach. Anyhow glad the problem was resolved.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Well, it said Mike but I was always on here. So I changed the name.

No bad, just didn't know. Hard to see a face behind a computer.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Mistakes happen but, it's people like Zach, that publicly own them, respond back, and solve problems that impress the hell out of me. Nice work Zach, I would not hesitate a second to do business with someone like you.

Re: Southwest ammunition

With a business like this, there is a lot going on, a lot of responsibility. I make mistakes, like every human. I set a high goal everyday pretty much unreachable for the man power we have. That sometimes allows for mistakes. I missed about 6 orders last week.

I am really mad at myself for this one. Home from over seas and did not get to shoot it.

Tgagnon may call me and I will make up for it next time he is home.

God, Logar sucks. I've spent a number of months between Logar and Wardak over the past year. Keep your head down, and stay out of Kerwar and Chark-e.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Kerwhar and Chark are some fun places BBK is fun too.
IDF isn't a joke around there. be safe over there.

Re: Southwest ammunition

I ordered 300 blackout ammo from SW ammo back in July and am still waiting for the ammo. PM just kept giving different excuses. I got tired of waiting so I requested full refunds last week because the company charged my cards. I have yet to receive a response.

Re: Southwest ammunition

I respectfuly disagree Zach. You are not the one coming across
as the ass here. You come across as someone busting their butt to grow a business and when you make a mistake, you look to rectify it. As I stated, I appreciate the work ethic and honesty. Have a great weekend!

Re: Southwest ammunition

Guys, we all know that Zach has had some mistakes as he grew the business. He is working real hard to take care of those. Are there those waiting for ammo yes and he is working to get rid of all the back orders. Some get missed, but he is taking care of it. Give the guy a break! Steven

You guys will continue to have my business, but don't let some grown up spoiled brats ruin it for the rest of us who enjoy group buys and group buy pricing. The very fact that you do your best to rectify it when things go wrong is what keeps us coming back, so don't let petty idiots screw the rest of us over.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Sounds like someone is in need of a good Logistician.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Looks like i am gonna order another batch of 200 rounds for my rifle very soon. SWammo, your doing a good job, yes mistakes happen but you learn from it.

Re: Southwest ammunition

my intention was never to meant to make you look like an @#@&. As a customer, I am not pleased. Trying to make a business grow is tough. Especially in this economy. But I ordered back in july. I pm'd with no meaningful response. What am I supposed to do?

Re: Southwest ammunition

To SWammo I got phone cards and will be calling tomorrow mid day for you evening for me as I have to charge my phone back up tonight. However you fix it is fine for me as I will use it one way or the other. I don't normally purchase ammo but didn't exactly have time to reload the ammo I was expecting to use while home and I was right. I do like your website by the way very easy and simple to navigate.

We get tons if IDF here all the time. I had to build a bunker under my bed to sleep for shit around here. Also bought a box of inner tube patch kits to patch the holes in my tent to keep my shit dry from all the miny windows the keep installing in the place. We average 10 a week right now but it is kind of high usually down around 4 a week. Got new tires on the gator other day thanks to IDF.

What am I supposed to do?</div></div> for one, group buys are opertunities for people like me, who like to give people breaks in price when I can by selling in bulk. I can buy a lot and get better rates for certain components. Group buys have delays, I am not the only one who does them, I am not the only one who has been delayed in the shipping of group buy products.

I did give you a meaningfull response, I said I am delayed, I am doing my best to get these out. Your order is canceled tomorrow, I should have done this your first pm to me. Once again not the truth, your character needs to be checked.

Zach

Re: Southwest ammunition

Character is either keeping your word when paid or at least responding to good faith inquiries in a timely manner. you did respond, after my inquiries spread over many weeks. A Meaningful response is giving the customer a specific delivery date, not an explanation of delays after waiting months for the product. All I did was point out that there were delays beyond what most people would not have expected. Full refunds on both orders please.

Your orders will be canceled in the morning, I already have a buyer for the group buys you do not want anymore. We are done here, sorry this did not meet your expectations, it just wasn't meant to be.

Re: Southwest ammunition

I have done business will Southwest Ammo, and I will again. That is not to say that there have not been glitches along the way.

Some people are not set up for waiting for anything. Fact is nice stuff usually takes time and the gun industry is one of the worst. I just built AR on a Seekins upper and lower. It took 6 1/2 months to get the receivers. I have 5 suppressors on order (2 group buys) and probably will not have them in my hands until March and May of next year.

I run my own little business, just a one man show. If you have never done it then you know nothing of what it takes to do so. I work 12-14hrs a day. The guys at Southwest Ammo are doing the same. Busting their ass as best they can. I can respect that. That is why I continue to do business with them, besides their products are damn good and worth the wait.

Re: Southwest ammunition

So I called Zach tonight and was able to get through no problem. Awful nice man and he more than offered to make it right by me. Looking forward to some future business as I think it will be easier for me to just order more blackout ammo from him rather than trim down 556 brass. Thanks for the help and thanks to the hide for helping me get in contact with the right person.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Just wanted to say I recently placed a large order with these guys for some 308 and they are both extremely pleasant and professional. I purchased some of their older product a little more than a year ago and it was very accurate, and I'm told this new stuff is supposedly even better, big +1 for them from me.

Re: Southwest ammunition

i have done and will continue to do business with southwest.....they are the first place I look when I need ammo.....

Re: Southwest ammunition

You guys rock, because of people like you, I get up everymorning trying to get this shipping thing down. It is a problem that is being fixed. Some are already seeing the speeder shipping. I added 2 more hours to the work days just to rock this ammo out. I even removed some high volume products to not overwhelm us.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the support. Sorry to those of you I have pissed off.

Thank you for your services. With the way people act I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to put on a group buy. Any one remember how many comments or phone calls SWFA got during the SS 5-20 group buy for $500 off. Please don't give up on these promos because of a few people.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Only complaint I have about SWA is they are making it hard for me to want to reload with the accuracy and price of their ammo.

Re: Southwest ammunition

I don't mind the lead times. Plan far enough in advance and you won't be left scrambling on match day. Their product is good enough that shipping times aren't a dealbreaker. Once ya'll get that squared away it'll just make your company that much better.

Just need to clear those 300blk orders, and a little bit of 5.56 and we will be shipping like the pro's. 308 orders are doing well the last couple of weeks. Each day they get faster and faster.

Re: Southwest ammunition

Zach I respect what you are doing!
As soon as I finish my .260 build I'm going to give
you a try. Thanks.

Re: Southwest ammunition

I've ordered from SWAmmo, through silencertalk, and they bent over backwards for me. The lead time was well worth the price.

Thanks ker2222, you rock!!!

Re: Southwest ammunition

When I ordered my ammo from Southwest it took longer than expected. But when you get quality and accurate ammo it makes it more than worth the wait. From the way I see it you are getting custom ammo @ normal or better prices. Just like someone already said, place your order far enough in advance and you have nothing to worry about. I mean this when I say that I will not buy any other ammo from anyone else. I just wished that they made handgun ammunition for my custom .45
