Well, it took almost a year to finish this damn thing, but it paid off. I bought the barrel from a friend, I know the 6X is old school, but who cares. Its a hart 1-8 twist 26" barrel. The action and trigger is a Savage model 10 and the stock is a B&C Medalists piece of shit, and im not sorry about saying that. Top rail and rings are weaver picatiny with a vortex viper scope.

I have to tell you, I like the 6X cause there is no mushroom tip like the 6XC gets. You'd understand if you knew the caliber. The 6X sizes real easy, no mushrooming.

Well, this is my first ever reloads and my first time ever behind this gun since its conversion. Groups were better then expected. Lets see if the photos work.

Re: 6X is back

No need to drop the photobucket link into the pic tab on the site. It already has the img code attached.

Re: 6X is back

Thanks Belisarius. I appreciate the response. Ill post some more pictures Sunday after my 300 yard competition. I was hoping to get more responses from other fellow 6x or 6xc shooters but oh well.

Re: 6X is back

I would assume there isnt much difference because the change in shoulder angle shouldnt offer to much more. Again, im assuming. I use loads designed for 6XC. Im only using a very mild load now so case capacity doesnt matter much for me. Im only shooting out to 400 yards so I im not burning up shit loads of powder. I believe it shoots around 2850 fps. I can load up to 39 or 40 grains to get over 3000 fps if I wanted.

Re: 6X is back

Forming XC brass without mushroom is easy
lots of info on how to

Re: 6X is back

Shot my first competition with it. My second ever competition and I shot F Class and shot a 962-36. Windy as hell and not consistent at all, came from everywhere and gusting like hell. To bad its the end of the season. Better luck next time

Re: 6X is back

UPDATE

New load showed better results. 38.5 h4350 at 2.74 with Winchester primers. 37 degrees with no wind to 10/12 mph gusts. 28.89 baro and cloudy. Shot with frozen fingers off my green day bag.

All without necking die. Next time I'll load oal to 2.745 since other loads shrank when I changed to 2.745.
