I have a Winchester action 7wsm built by a very good builder all of you would know. I’m having a problem with my safety that does not occur constantly. With the safety in off position the trigger will not break to fire the weapon and when you try to rotate the safety to the on position it will not move. The only way to free the safety up and get the weapon to fire is to recycle the bolt. It has happened three out of six outings with the rifle, one of those was on an antelope hunt a few weeks ago. Any suggestion? I hate to send it back for warranty work right now due to the upcoming deer season.

My thoughts, too.

If the trigger holds the firing pin back, it ain't the sear engagement. It is the engagement of the safety lever to the cocking piece. EIther way, take it to someone to fix it for you.
