Anyone recommend a good pair of thumbscrews for a AICS 1.5 cheekpiece?

A pair that fits fairly snug rather than sticking out the side a country mile.

Anyone remember Spacers

Re: AICS Thumbscrews

The thumb screws for a cheek saddle from a McMillan A4 work well on mine.

Re: AICS Thumbscrews

Haven't seen those, but will look.

I know Mile High has a commercial set, but I had a pair made by a Hide member here that were nice and am trying to figure out who they were..........

trying to support Hide persons....if able

Re: AICS Thumbscrews

They're about $7.50 per set from McMillan, I just bought two. You can machine them off to a point if they are too long.

Re: AICS Thumbscrews

LOP Spacers you can get from Mile High, Cheek Piece spacers Id go though Michael Victor at Victor Company USA. Also he has the new Grippy Cheekpiece, IMHO well worth the money.

Re: AICS Thumbscrews

Roger all that........one stop shopping I fully comprehend from Mile High.

Again, was trying to 'fund' a Hide member as previous gents used to make the 1/4 and 1/2'' spacers as well as the screws.........

Thanks though for the ideas.

Re: AICS Thumbscrews

An option since you have the 1.5 is to pick up one of those TAB Gear sling things and place the appropriate Allen's in there for the screws, scope caps, etc. A cut half inch wrench as well. It's not like you have to have to take them out a lot. Reference the 1/2" wrench, that's if your scope mount has those for the cross bolts. For less bulk, I had a machinist buddy stamp/water jet a nice flat one with a cut for 1/4" drive bits.--idea for you machinist out there.

Re: AICS Thumbscrews

Thanks amac ..Will this work with the ax aics too.how much was it shipped from canada?

Re: AICS Thumbscrews

Just ordered some of these thumbscrews. I had got a AI set that needs to go back due to a defect. These are a boatload less cost. They ship from Wisconsin and also have a Canada location. If you get your order over $20 they ship free UPS.

I ordered four screws last year and the total bill was $9.08 and was shipped from Wisconsin.
(The other two was for another project)

I would assume they will fit the AX.

Re: AICS Thumbscrews

I was preparing to order (2) of the thumbscrews from J.W. Winco, but was wondering about shipping cost, so I called them - the c.s. rep stated they only ship UPS and she estimated shipping to be $8-12, I ordered 10 thumbscrews w/free shipping, thinking some other AICS owners might be interested in a pair.

Re: AICS Thumbscrews

I would edit your post, Delta, and remove the sale offer, to avoid breaking site rules.

Speaking of thumbscrews, will the McMillan thumbscrews work on KMW cheekpieces?

Re: AICS Thumbscrews

Thanks for the advice sentry1. I enjoy "looking and learning" more than "posting", so my post count is too low for the for sale section, and I don't want to get kicked off this great forum.
