Someone has a brake for sale in the accessories forum that I am interested in but it is for a .338 and I need it for a .308. Will it work without any negatives? I would think it should not be a problem but I want to be certain.

Yes...it will work. It boils down to a question of how effective it will be on a .308 (or any sub-caliber down from the .338) as opposed to the cartridge it was designed for.

Oh...well that sheds some important light on the subject. Knowing it is the Sako TRG brake...it'll work quite well on the .308 (not that the .308 really needs a muzzle brake, but that is an entirely separate issue).
